06.08 Justification for my startup
Our product is not a disruptive innovation neither are we trying to reinvent the wheel. We're simply trying to create a more efficient and effective way for students to connect and learn. Currently, students use Facebook Groups to connect with peers in their schools but there isn't any group that caters to connecting them with peers from other universities across the continent. Bookishmate aims to solve that by building tools to aid this.
06.09 Competitive Analysis
There aren't a lot of people building in this space currently. Our main competitor currently is a startup named Stranerd that offers a Q&A platform for university students among other features. Another platform we consider as a competitor is Facebook Groups as it it the current mode of connection for these students we aim to target.
