01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Greater Eredo Investments Ltd (GEIL) is a food systems company dedicated to simplifying agriculture across the value chain through technology enhanced services and infrastructure. The word “Eredo” according to the oral tradition of the ‘Oke-Eri’ people of Ijebu land means an embankment or rampart. Rampart is a fortification infrastructure built for the security of the Ijebu people. The GREATER EREDO in our name Greater Eredo Investments Ltd is symbolic of our vision of building food systems hubs as a greater fortification technology & infrastructure provider for food security in Africa. Our vision is to establish a network of localized AgricTrail Trade Centres across Africa. Our mission is to empower African agriculture through innovative and sustainable market access, fostering efficient learning and partnerships.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

1) Production Challenges: This includes low produce output, lack of technical know-how, and post-harvest losses. 2) Market Access Challenges: They experience poor access to markets, unfair pricing for their produce, and improper packaging & branding. 3) Financial Challenges: They face limited access to patient finance, high cost of inputs, and improper record keeping. 4) Infrastructure & Knowledge Sharing Challenges: There is inadequate infrastructure, lack of extension support, and inefficiently managed farmers cooperatives

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

The AgricTrail Food Systems Management App provides smallholder farmers access to manage their entire farming activities and get more resources through cooperative. While the AgricTrail Trade Centre offers access to off-take market, logistics, extension, value addition, and agric laboratory services. These solutions seeks to achieve increased productivity, enhanced profitability, improved market access, sustainable farming practices, strengthened cooperatives, and overall wellbeing of smallholder farmers thus simplifying the African agricultural sector, reducing poverty, and enhancing food security one locality after another.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Our primarily target market are the SHFs and agribusinesses with limited access to resources, markets, and knowledge, cultivating crops, culturing fish, rearing poultry, piggery, ruminants, and micro animals. We also intend to engage farmers cooperative and associations seeking efficient management tools and improved resource access.

Proven track record in managing large-scale commercial integrated farms and government agricultural projects.

Our AgricTrail project is a holistic approach to solving smallholder farmers challenges. It covers a combination of existing solutions and integrating all agricultural value chains.
