HexcelMath is an educational technology startup focused on providing cost effective digital solutions to enrich math learning experiences. We focus on delivering innovative offline solutions to provide uninterrupted learning opportunities regardless of location.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Smart book is our attempt to provide accessible quality math education for learners regardless of socioeconomic status, location and other inequities. Smart book also was designed to ensure uninterrupted learning in case of unforeseen learning breaks like we experienced during COVID-19, network interruptions or unavailability of networks and even in remote locations.

Smart books improves student performance and learning outcomes. Smart books assist educators enhance student engagement and interactions. Smart books support teachers with data driven insights like areas of student difficulties for more productive decision making. Smart book full offline model and reasonably priced cost improve accessibility for marginalized learners. Smart books streamlines teaching operations, increasing teacher's efficiency and productivity at considerably reduced efforts.

06.08 Justification for my startup
Smart books disrupts the conventional educational learning solutions as the first fully offline intelligent learning solutions and the first dynamic e-book. Our idea for developing the smart book was to produce a digital book that could more efficiently utilize computing resource to do more than display static text and images like hardcopy version. We wanted a digital book that can efficiently utilize those enormous computing resource in smart devices to perform dynamic computations and provide feedbacks. Secondly, considering the biggest learning challenges facing African learners, such as learning inequities, poverty, poor to no network connection, limited desktops etc, we opted to design a learning solutions that can overcome these learning challenges, making the smart books usable in regions where other learning solutions cannot be used. Finally, our partnership with educators allows us to curate curriculum aligned contents in tune with academic standards and culture.

During our T.A.P.S training, we provide support for all participants but more for female participants. This is because we are aware of the low number of females in tech and STEM roles, therefore we strive to provide support to facilitate more female tech-preneurs.
