01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

My name is Perpetua N Kweyo, and I'm an entrepreneur in products and services. My startup is born from a passion to address gaps identified in academic research. Despite encountering roadblocks in gaining support from local authorities and investors, my determination remains steadfast. My vision for a dynamic hub to empower Windhoek's entrepreneurs is driven by my belief in the transformative power of collaboration and innovation. This idea came about from my academic research findings, which earned me a distinction. I wanted to assist Windhoek's entrepreneurs through the city administration. However, my requests for meetings and proposal presentations were ignored. I also approached the Ministry of Trade for an internship opportunity and to present my idea, but with no success. Even when I pitched my idea to investors like Momentum, I didn't receive any follow-up. I have a legally registered company with good standing certificates from both parties in Namibia.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem I'm trying to solve is the significant barriers and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in Windhoek, Namibia. The main problem I'm trying to solve is the significant barriers and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in Windhoek, Namibia. Through my academic research and personal experiences, I've identified several key issues:

Although I currently lack a stable income to support further studies, I stay busy with research and take short courses from free platforms, making learning a daily habit. This passion for education and entrepreneurship drives my work. Education is my first priority, and the hub will seek partnerships with educational institutions to effectively bring solutions. It has always been my greatest wish to collaborate with all industry backgrounds and deliver solutions, but financial constraints have been a burden in fulfilling my mission.

It has been a struggle to find safe and direct access to the right investors without taking unnecessary risks. Providing this hub will offer a great solution for entrepreneurs, enabling them to support and launch their ideas effectively. The entrepreneurs I have interacted with at Venture Tank Program support the idea of creating a hub that provides guidance, reduces risks, and facilitates economic growth. I am confident that the establishment of this hub will significantly boost economic growth.

Competitive Analysis, though not formally conducted yet, aims to identify market shifts towards innovation and entrepreneurship, which play significant roles in the global market. Currently, my awareness is limited to Base Camp in Namibia, while my hub strives to fill gaps in effectiveness that other established entities may overlook. By locating gaps in the availability of effective hubs, I aim to examine businesses within specific industries, revealing potential gaps in strategy compared to the broader industry landscape. This exploration can inspire new business ideas or innovative products. To target the most effective marketing strategies, such as word-of-mouth, institutional partnerships, posters, social media campaigns, workshops, and networking events, I will analyze successful channels used by competitors. Learning from their experiences can help avoid costly mistakes and shape a data-backed roadmap for our own marketing efforts.
