01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Our startup distributes cultural and art products to retailers, schools and companies. Our flagship product called the ''Namibian Culture Colouring Book'', a book that educates young minds about their own culture and cultures of other Namibian tribes through colouring. The book incorporates all the tribes in Namibia, all cultural objects are spelled and identified the native tribes language, the is a small narration at the bottom of every page that explains what is happening on that particular page, content is based on traditional attires, foods & drinks and customs across all the tribes and lastly, there is a mini quiz at the back of the book, this is just to test the knowledge of the child.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem we are trying to solve with the Namibian Culture Colouring Book is that many young people in Namibia are losing touch with their cultural heritage. As modern influences grow stronger, children are becoming less familiar with their own traditions, languages, and customs. In Namibia, there aren't many educational tools that focus on local culture, which makes it hard for schools and families to teach children about their rich cultural history. This gap means that important cultural knowledge is at risk of disappearing. Our project addresses this problem by offering a fun and educational way for children to learn about their culture. The Namibian Culture Colouring Book uses engaging coloring activities and simple explanations to make learning about traditions and heritage enjoyable. This helps children feel proud of their cultural identity and ensures that these traditions are remembered and passed on to future generations.
