Jimmy- A Investment is an initiative planted through the foresight and vision of Mr. Jimmy Areseb and is situated at farm Ganamab Pos 1 with 45 hectors of land earmarked for agricultural production. We are posed to establish a 1500 layer coop as well as to plant, harvest, package and sell, vegetables and grains on medium to large scale basis. 06.08 Justification for my startup
The NAB said Namibia imports an average of 54 570 tonnes of agro-processed products annually at an estimated average value of over N$1.5 billion. Products include mainly juice, frozen vegetables, frozen potato chips, jams, olive oil, spices and other forms of dried vegetables. With that in mind our products are set to penetrate an already existing market, hence our project aims to meet the demand of food supply.
06.09 Competitive Analysis
Our main competitors are already well off institutions such as Henties Bay poultry that supplies weekly eegs to the Uis supermarket and farmers from far north of Namibia that supply vegetables to the local markets while most of the products are being imported. Our competitive advantage is within the distance this products have to be transported by local businesses. For example Henties bay is 120km from Uis, while our project is situated 20km from the Uis Supermarket this gives us more room to enter the market with ease in the name of transport cost control. On the other hand we will be the first ever project to produce eegs on a scale of more than 1000 per day as there are only Small businesses that are unable to satisfy the market.
11.05 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
Yes, I am part of a community Gardening project established by woman and youth and is aimed at food security and woman empowerment.
