Describe your project or startup in a few words

The project mainly is focused in irrigation farming because I believe Malawi is rich in soil and we have plenty of water sources across the National.Mainly I have chosen maize, vegetables and tomatoes in my irrigation farming project.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

The idea of my project specifically is for social economic value or income generation or practice this irrigation farming as a business.This project needs alot so I propose one of the things to be available 1.fertile land(30 acres), 2. Capital, fertilizer, water sources not more than 200 meters from water source, labour force and irrigation eguipment like solar pumps, and lastly agriculture consultants to give directions , all these things complete the cycle of the irrigation farming project.I have always asking this question for a quite long time , Israel is good at agriculture but rainfall is scarce and water bodies are far but Malawi is rich in soil and water bodies but why we don't practice serious irrigation farming? But every year there is severe hunger and famine ? So I thought it wise as a concerned Malawian to take things into next level.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem am trying to solve is to eradicate hunger .imagine if am to harvest enough maize in my country or community level many people will be saved in a sense that others will have employment opportunities and stample food like maize will be available and income will be generated . I believe irrigation farming here in malawi is only way to deal with this severe hunger and extra maize can be exported and as a Nation will benefit from the foreign currency in short forex,so farming will now solve problems arising within a community like shortages of food will come to and end, and I will lead an example among my fellow youths and this create innovative ideas among youth hence irrigation farming will be a tool to fight against hunger

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

I believe as I explained area on , irrigation farming will help to eradicate hunger at National level because maize will be available across the country and employment opportunities will be created because a chain of employment will be created, for instance transporters will be hired and even manpower will be hired to work in farms , even government will be benefit from Tax and even forex.hence Malawi is blessed with Flesh waters that is suitable for farming.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

The startup product is maize, tomato and vegetables and targeted beneficiaries are people who uses maize flour as stample food or any other way round ,and vegetables, tomatoes are also on the list to be practiced because these complete a cycle of food ,these are products that everyday people use in their homes and we all know how important are tomatoes and vegetables are even restaurants and hotels needs these things so in short my targeted group are 1.people , restaurants,hotels people outside Malawi.

The two females owners are graduate from Malawi University of Agriculture so a approached them with idea so they were very interested to join and because of knowledge in field of Agriculture I thought it wise they will be helpful enough to make the project a success., The other male owner is a brand ambassador or advertising experience so he knows how to advertise a business and he has shop where he prints out t shirt and he will be helpful enough to brand our project

The irrigation farming our goal is zero hunger which will make the availability of maize in this country and people will have access of buying fair price maize hence eradicating poverty gradually.i hope the project by end of 5 years I will manage to feed at National level if I gain support.

Mostly my competitors are maize business people or vendors so I believe I will be using modern technology when practicing irrigation farming so I will be undisputed when it comes to maize harvesting and quality of our maize will be our wining tool at the market because we will involve Experts in this irrigation farming project.
