Poultry farming is the raising of birds domestically or commercially, primarily for meat and eggs but also for feathers. Chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese are of primary importance.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Agriculture is the backbone of any nation to sustain, and poultry farming being one of sub-branches of agriculture as an art, it enables rearing of birds( chicken) which provides many things for the country and outside country. Chicken can be classified into layers and broilers. Layers are kept for egg production while broilers are kept for meat production. Despite producing meat and eggs , chicken also produce feathers that are used to make different traditional costumes also when taken to industry can used to make different products. Chicken also provide waste products which are used as organic manure which are important to plants . Keeping of chicken can be used as investment where one can buy and keep after one year a huge profit is made after selling. Also chicken can act as school fees either selling directly and send money to school or just taking some chickens to school to do an exchange for fees. Chicken can get feeding from chickmarsh, layers marsh, broilers marsh and greens

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Rearing of chicken can used to solve many problems. One keeping of chicken help to reduce hunger where by chicken is source of food, also reduce poverty when one has chicken can act as source of wealth. Also the problem of school fees and debts can come down where by ,one can sell a few chicken and pay fees and debts. The problem of failing to repay the loan can be used inform of chicken either taking it away or selling them and pay the money. Chicken waste products can be used to be used as organic manure which can solve problems of relying on artificial fertilizer.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

Chicken provides meat, eggs , feathers and waste products as products. Meat and eggs act as source of food in household which is reach of proteins. Eggs also can act as source of income when sold. Waste products of chicken can used as organic manure which is nutritious to plants. Feathers when taken to Industry can used to make different products as well as traditional costumes. Also chicken can act as source of exchange for goods causing barter trade. Chicken is source of income also earn foreign exchange when sold outside, source of employment where people are employed to work. Source traditional function because is used in cultural norms, it promotes socialization as well as interrraction, chicken also improve living standards of people.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

My poultry farming project aimed at serving my family as well as our community and country wide. First, it act as source of income and source of food to my family. Also I can sell chicken to pay fees for my kids or my brother. Community members benefit from this project where by buying eggs and broilers as well as waste products to be used as manure during plantation. Also donating to childrens home after selling them.Also transportation of chicken country wide for sale and obtain different products from it help to serve country wide.

Esther Nechesa is hardworking, she wakes up early in the morning make sure chicken are well fed, enough water and environment is clean. Joyce Wandaki, she is committed she is always focused on her project. Naomy Kulecho she is innovative thinker, capable of solving any situation that she faces. Godfrey Indeche he is punctual in time of handling the chicken. Dancun Ashiono is liable, he is readily available. Seth Onyango, he is creative , he can use any means to control poultry diseases.
