Wenvilla ventures is an agribusiness company that carries out various farming enterprises i.e. poultry, dairy,blacksodier fly and azolla farming.Our main aim is to practise regenarative agriculture and grow from small scale production to large scale.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Wenvilla ventures is our agribusiness company name.The agribusiness enterprises that are the core of Wenvilla Ventures are poultry,blacksoldierfly,dairy, azolla,vegatable and fruit farming enterprises.We always ensure to raises our livestocks and crops organically as possible.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Wenvilla Ventures solves a wide range of problems to name a few: food security, poverty and soil health. Our main problem is food security. Food is a basic need in life. Currently in Kenya, census done by the Kenya bureau of statistics shows that the population has increased immensely and it is predicted to shoot up higher on the next census. This increase in population requires food to survive.For one to get food to eat there has to be a farmer somewhere who has raised crops and animals sustainably and organically. Therefore in Wenvilla Ventures we do the job of raising our livestocks and crops organically to be able to bridge the gap of providing food to the people in the community. In our farm we raise cows for milk, Chicken for meat and eggs, vegetables and fruits .All this products we take a certain amount for our own use and the surplus is sold to people hence enriching the individual and society as whole with health foods.This helps counter the issue of food security.

There are many advantages of using our products. This are the major ones. 1. It solve the issue of food security. All enterprises in Wenvilla Ventures performs different tasks but their major aim is to produce quality organic food to the society. 2. It promotes soil health. The waste that is produced in the farm is converted into organic fertilizer by black soldier fly Larvae .This organic fertilizer is the used to plant crops instead of synthetic fertilizers this helps enrich the soil health.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Wenvilla Ventures has a wide range of goals and aims to achieve.Our main aim is to serve all the people in the community from the babies, youth and the elderly with quality, organic and sustainable food products. This will provide good health among the people and the whole society. In using our products most of the people will eradicate hunger on their homes. This will be the best way to combat food security.

My first partner is my mentor. Her skills are exceptional. She is an Australian alumna and has specialized in coaching and mentoring young people. My second partner is a contractor by profession and does overseeing to all construction of all the structure we build.

Wenvilla Ventures has many enterprises in it which work keenly and closely to eradicate poverty, starting from the business owner to the customers. The following are ways we cut out poverty, first we have a slogan we say at the farm which is 'say no to poverty at all costs'. This has helped us on the farm to work smart to be able to produce and provide great services and products as a company to us and others.By that I mean for instance the money we make from selling our meat chickens milk, eggs, vegetables and fruits help us with revenue. Therefore, the income generated is used in investing to create more wealth for the company and the owner. The second way is helping our customers by providing them our services and products consistently. This way customers use our products to enrich their lives positively. For example, Wenvilla Ventures supplies milk to a vendor who purchases the product at reasonable price and then goes to sell it at certain price to create more wealth.

Wenvilla Ventures produces quality food products. The meat products from our organically and grass fed chickens, eggs, milk from our dairy, vegetables and fruits are suitable for human consumption. Therefore, this helps in providing food to the people in the community and company as well. Most of all this product are sold to the community and are found in abundance.We work extremely hard and smart to be able to provide to everyone in need, hence making sure there is zero hunger among us and the community.

Wenvilla Ventures ensures that the owner of the company and customers who purchase or use their products get quality and organic products there by maintaining a good health among individuals in the society. We grow crops and raise livestocks organically and in the most humane way. Our products such as eggs and meat are organic from grass fed birds that are on a free range system this makes these products tasty when cooked. The milk we also get from our cows is organic from grass fed cows. Therefore when a customer purchases any of our product he or she is sure of the nutrition value of our organic products will offer to his or her health. This promotes good health of the customers leading to a healthy community. We at Wenvilla Ventures also consume the product we create from the percentage we retain for our personal use before selling the rest. This also help us maintain our health and wellness.

Our agribusiness project considers learning as a major source of information. In Wenvilla Ventures we believe in researching and learning from other successful farmers. This helps us with more knowledge on every enterprise we are doing. Sources such as YouTube and Facebook, and other social media networks have been on the forefront in providing us with more learning opportunities. Therefore we also share our knowledge to individuals who are willing to learn from us. We also do mentorship to young aspiring mentees in farming who wish to start their farming or agribusiness journey. As the saying goes ' iron sharpens iron ' says we also link up with certified agribusiness agent and successful farmers to learn on new innovations that would save us the cost of production and in return we share this information to other farmers within the community.

Occasionally in our agribusiness enterprises we offer contract jobs to casuals. Most of this jobs such as harvesting of crops, weeding out ,planting and even top dressing the crops were traditionally perceived as men jobs. To ensure there is a balance on the gender we source for equal number of people on both gender for any specific manual work required to be done. Therefore we not only empower women but also empower men as well.

All enterprises in Wenvilla Ventures such as poultry and dairy have structures. This structures are covered with roofing materials, Iron sheets. This has made it easier for us to collect rain water since we get rain almost all year round. We have installed rain gutters on this structures to be able to catch all the water. This water is stored in our tanks and can be used to clean around the structure, water the plants, give it to our livestocks and even used by us for cooking. This rain water is clean and has been our major source of water since we don't have a borehole yet.

At Wenvilla Ventures we get a lot of cow manure from our dairy enterprise. This manure is used as an organic fertilizer and the surplus is used in our bio digester that generates biogas which we use in cooking our food. The results of using animal waste creates bioenergy which is clean energy.

The amount of work that Wenvilla Ventures performs is incredible and it builds the economy in many ways. For instance the poultry enterprise, there are many aspects of work that are in this enterprise.Starting from collecting and purchasing quality fertilised eggs for hatching, hatching the eggs. All this require patience and working smart. This contributes to paying taxes and getting an income hence building the economy.

Wenvilla Ventures keenly works to eradicate this inequalities, poverty and hunger in society. We produce quality food products from our enterprises.The food produce harvested is sold to the community, through this we are able to end hunger in society. The income we get also helps us from poverty by improving our economic growth.

All enterprises in Wenvilla Ventures provide solutions that make it easier for humans to live sustainably and safely. This enterprises produce food which is a basic need in life. The black soldier fly enterprise alone does a lot in protecting the environment from waste. The organic waste that accumulates in cities and communities make it harsh and unsafe for human settlement. Therefore we use our black soldier fly to consume on the organic waste since they are non pathogenic flies and they do not spread disease. These flies give us larvae which is feed for our chickens and grass which is organic fertilizer for our crops. We are able to clean the environment and making it safe and sustainable.

Our enterprises work together and all of them depend on each other.This creates great and responsible production of food. For instance our poultry enterprise provides us with eggs and manure. This products provide us and the members of the community with food. The manure which is organic waste is consumed by the black soldier fly Larvae enterprise within Wenvilla Ventures, this Larvae becomes feed for our chickens.Hence this creates a circular economy.

Organic waste that is generated in society leads to production of gases that are poisonous to humans, plants and other living organisms. This gases such as methane as they keep on accumulating from organic waste being produced on a daily basis, may lead to change in rainfall patterns which affect the climate. Hence if there is no rains that means crops will be affected with stunted growth leading to no food in the society and the world at large. Rearing black soldier fly in Wenvilla Ventures solves this problem of too much organic waste accumulating. The Larvae stage of this fly feeds on purely organic waste. Therefore this provides a solution to save the environment which leads to fighting climate change.

Chicken and dairy feeds have fishmeal as one of the elements in them that provide high protein to the animals. This has lead to a high demand of fish to be able to produce more animal feeds. This demand results to overfishing which destroy our water bodies ecosystems. To solve this in Wenvilla Ventures we decided to embark on rearing of black soldier fly larvae which has a high crude protein percentage than that of fish to be able to replace the fish with black soldier fly Larvae in our animals feeds ration .This will help maintain and improve the oceans and lakes ecosystems by reducing overfishing.

Wenvilla Ventures cares and protects the environment. The fruit farming enterprise in our agribusiness project has many fruits varieties. Avocado is one of the widely planted on our farm. This trees are planted at a spacing of five metres by five meters. This protects the land from soil erosion as their root hold soil compactly and the trees branches covers the land from direct rain water drops which may create run offs that will sweep away the fertile soil through soil erosion. The organic fertilizer we use on all our crops restore the soil health. We also do a wide range of practices such as crop rotation, cover cropping and mulching to help reduce tillage which protects the land.

The youth mostly in societies are highly likely to be jobless. This forces most of them to indulge in crime. Therefore myself at Wenvilla Ventures being in the youth group have decided to employ my self through farming. Through this I am a role model for the youth by showing them that sustainable agriculture is more valuable and can create employment for the youth who are willing to work. Through this many youths can get into farming and ditch away crime. This will improve peace in the community and globally.

05.08 Justification

The uniqueness in our agribusiness company is that we practice regenerative agriculture. This is by using organic fertilizers such as the frass we obtain from our black soldier fly enterprise, chicken manure, cow manure and not the synthetic fertilizers on all our crops. This helps improve the soil health. Since animal feed prices are high in market, at Wenvilla Ventures we have resorted to black soldier fly farming to get larvae as the feed for our chickens and also azolla farming to also get organic natural plant protein for our livestocks as well. The black soldier fly and azolla farming enterprises are the innovative ways of finding the solution of animal feed in a cheaper way.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

There are many farmers across Kenya who are most probably doing some of my enterprises but not to the degree and magnitude we do at Wenvilla Ventures. Most of this farmers are already stuck on the burden of purchasing their feeds and fertilizers which are synthetic,inorganic and expensive. We do Coaching and mentoring the young women who want to do agribusiness or already doing it. Wenvilla Ventures links the the young female entrepreneur who have agribusiness products to the market through advertising their products.
