My project is all about opening a medical laboratory which will be affordable and convenient for everyone.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

I live in a place where it's actually densely populated.Health facilities around that area are mostly clinics and chemists.As they say,a laboratory is the heart of every medical facility.This is because inorder to get drugs from the chemist,you first have to run some tests related to how you feel.For your doctor to treat you accordingly,he/she also have to send you to run some tests in the laboratory. By establishing a good and affordable laboratory,people around will be able to get good results from the laboratory technician and not only those around,even others from far places will access our facility mostly through referrals only if the laboratory is well equipped,it's affordable,there are good services and it is customer friendly no matter people's backgrounds.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

By initiating this project,the main problem am trying to solve is people getting over the counter drugs without knowing what the actual problem is. Some laboratories charge so expensive such that people are forced to go for drugs directly from the chemist since they can't afford the laboratory tests,bt by having an affordable laboratory for everyone, people will get better treatment by first running tests without digging so deep in their pockets and then get the right drugs.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

The major benefit of this project is that even those at grassroots levels will be able to access our services. People will not have to always travel to main towns to get the tests done mainly because they can't get then from rural areas. By also creating such a laboratory in this area,it will also help in it's growth.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

The mostly targeted beneficiaries of this project are the people who live in the area.Others may come through referrals bt it will help those living within and they will not have to always go to town to get the tests done. Also this is a place where 80%of the people do manual jobs so by having an affordable lab it will also benefit them.

The first partner is a registered medical Laboratory technician.He has a 7 years work experience and is very good at what he does.He portrays the best skills in what he does,interacts positively with his patients,offers a very conducive environment for his patients such that the patients are confident with the results they get . He is a trustworthy person and keeps his patients information very confidential. The second partner is a registered clinical officer.He has 7-10 years of experience and is smart at what he does His skills in treatment are exceptional.He is kind hearted,humble and is good at his work. The main reason of partnership with him is after our lab technician does his teats,the clinical officer will also be able to give the right drugs to the patient and this will be of great benefit since the patient will not go to buy drugs from the chemist and be overcharged or given the wrong drugs.

This start up contributes to this goal by simply offering Affordable services such that even those from grassroots levels i.e the mama mbogas,bodaboda guys,those hawking on the roads will be able to afford. It can offer few job opportunities since we might need cleaners,waste disposers and these will put food on their table.
