Describe your project or startup in a few words
Last mile distribution is a project intended to supply FMCG to the last mile areas where there are no good roads as well as Electricity. These are areas where most government services are not felt. My intention is to make this solar powered.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
With poor roads and no electricity, unethical business people have managed to take advantage of this communities and villages therefore selling them basic essentials at very high prices. This has affected these communities to the extend of childrens being forced out of school, because all their parents can afford is enough to pay for the food. My idea is to come up with a distribution channel that is reliable and affordable to the communities. I will come up with solar powered retail shops deep in the villages with most basic goods and entertainment joints, with this, the villages will be vibrant and luminated with solar lights. I intend to employ community members to run this retail shops, and most if not everything entailed in the whole project will be run by the community.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
What I'm trying to solve is unreliable distributions to the community and exploitation from the unethical business people. We are also trying to conserve the environment by using green energy. We will also solve school drop out and mulnutrition.
