Describe your project or startup in a few words
This is a project aimed at creating awareness to all people of all gender, age and patriot on the management of waste plastic materials . It entails reducing waste, re-using others and recycling them to useful raw materials.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
The project is focused on making sure that the climate change brought about by mismanagement of waste from all the categories be it companies, local communities and any industry is solved. This is will be achieved by creating awareness to the effects of the plastics pollution and it's impact on climate change, human life, marine life and the solutions on the same. The project is aiming to set up a plant that will have two machines i.e plastic crusher and polythene crusher for the start. The project will require no additional chemicals since it's only materials i.e polythene or plastic and water. The project aimes to get materials from local community, industries and other activities such as beach clean up and community clean up activities. The project also target the youths on the employment solutions from the available resources and to educate everyone on the waste to wealth movement. Awareness for waste is wealth campaign.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Unlike other materials, plastics does not biodegrade, It may take up to 1,000 years to break down, so when it is discarded, it builds up in the environment until it reaches a crisis point .This pollution chokes marine wildlife, damages soil and poisons groundwater, and can cause serious health impacts. Moreover, plastics also contribute to climate crisis. The production of plastic is one of the most energy-intensive manufacturing processes in the world. The material is made up from fossil fuels such as crude oil which are transformed via heat and other additives into a polymer. For example in 2019, plastics generated 1.8 billion metric tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions -3.4 percent of the global total. This are among the major issues waste to wealth movement is targeting to solve.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

The project is aimes at employing a number of workers from 10 to 20 for the start this reduces the unemployment rate. The project will also be conducted awareness to all people to inform them on the waste to wealth solutions and make them know that they can get a living from the waste they throw and that many can change their state.
02.02.01 My project contributes to the Zero hunger goal
5
02.02.02 Zero hunger - Justification
The sustainability of our food systems depends on the soil, ocean, and aquatic ecosystem health, yet a recent growing body of evidence reports of (micro)plastic accumulation in agricultural soils , fruits and vegetables , and seafood . The presence of (micro)plastics in agricultural soils and aquatic biota poses potential risks to human health through ingestion in foodstuffs such as bottled water, beer, salt, and bivalves . One recent study has reported that plastic food packing itself is a source of (micro)plastics in food consumed by humans . These studies, and many others not included here, provide overwhelming evidence of seafood and soil contamination by (micro)plastics that have potential consequences for human food security, food safety, and health.

02.04.01 My project contributes to the Quality education goal
6
02.04.02 Quality education - Justification
Plastic waste Problems are becoming increasingly serious all around the world. To cope with the situation, education is of the essence. Different countries have different education foci, but there is still room for improvement to change all people’s knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding plastic waste management. CEES has adopted three different teaching strategies, which are the direct teaching, hands-on, and simulation game-based strategies. It was found that all these three teaching strategies can significantly improve pupils’knowledge, while the hands-on and simulation game-based strategies can facilitate attitudes and behavior, though insignificantly. Therefore, it would be good if the PRB is to be employed as well as allocating more time and human resources to the hands-on and simulation game-based teaching strategies so as to facilitate more significantchanges in pupils’attitudes and behaviors regarding plastic waste management.

02.14.01 My project contributes to the Life below water goal
7 - Strongly Agree
02.14.02 Life below water - Justification
The most visible impacts of plastic debris are the ingestions, suffocation, and entanglement of species. Wildlife such as birds, whales, turtle and fish mistake indigestible plastic waste for food and die of starvation as their stomachs filled with it. The removal of legacy plastic and prevention of pollution requires that fewer plastic products be made, that circularity of supply and value chains be increased, and consumer behavior be changed. It also involves public and private investment and the development of infrastructure along the full lifecycle of plastics, including circular economy solutions like reducing, reusing and recycling plastics.
02.15.01 My project contributes to the Life on land goal
7 - Strongly Agree
02.15.02 Life on land - Justification
Mismanaged plastics is Climate Change caused by Greenhouse Gas Emissions . Greenhouse gas emissions from landfills are mainly derived from organic waste, such as discarded food, paper, and wood as they decompose. However, it has also been found that plastic dumped into the landfill also contributes to emission of these gasses after photodegradation (exposure to light) happens and further evidence reveals that these emissions increase as the plastic breaks down further. This is in addition to emissions related to landfilling plastic, primarily from the fossil fuel use associated with the sorting and handling of the wastes prior to landfilling and the transportation of the waste from the collection point to the landfill. This is not forgetting that open burning of plastic also has severe negative impacts on the climate, as the waste is burned without the presence of air pollution controls. Soil pollution is also caused by plastics and affects animal and human health at large.

05.08 Justification
1) Plastic roads: To stop plastics from ending up in oceans and landfills, some companies around the world are now trying out a new strategy of melting plastic products, combining additives and then using the mixture to pave roadways. MacRebur is one of the pioneer companies in building plastic roadways.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
The competitors in the project are the recyclers . To be sure, not every locale recycles plastics at high rates and some plastic packaging cannot be reused at all once it reaches its ‘end-of-life’ stage’. Still more plastic isn’t recycled because of the breathtaking variety of plastic packaging that is produced. Almost no two pieces of packaging are exactly the same. This variety of material, colour, shape and design creates two key problems. On the consumer side, consumers simply do not understand what can be recycled in their locality. On the sorting and recycling side, it is difficult to sort the variety of packaging into the appropriate fractions for recycling, making sorting more difficult and expensive, and driving down the volume of plastic packaging which can be recycled, and with it, recycling rates. This is what waste to wealth project is aiming to prosper with.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
Working with the CBOs ,investors and nongovernmental organizations need to take several steps to unlock climate finance for women waste entrepreneurs. This begins with more organized collection and management of data about women waste entrepreneurs in emerging markets — data that will allow a clearer articulation of the ways in which investing in women waste entrepreneurs both accelerates climate change mitigation and supports stronger financial returns.
