Describe your project or startup in a few words
Aim of of the project is to connect local maa community with clean energy such as solar, cookingware and affordable Electronics on lipa mdogo mdogo basis.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
For the past one year, I have interacted with over 10 village settings in Kajiado and Narok counties where lighting is the challenge, some places not connected with internet, some walk over 20 miles to look for means of charging their phones, Clean Energy Mashinani intends to fill these gaps. With area operation identified, Ngong town we would love to address these gaps by providing eco-friendly energy such as jiko, Solar powered electronics and solar lighting solutions at an affordable prices or in lipa mdogo mdogo basis. The project aims to address the inequalities in energy distribution in pastoralist communities in Kenya. We intend to back up the community until on this initiative which will impact school going children in reading, adults in charging their devices at the comfort of their homes and easy in cooking will change the landscape and open up the area for developments which will benefit locals.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
We will be solving the expensive electricity generation yet not even available. Eco-friendly jikos will minimize cutting of trees for energy. Bridging the gap in internet connections Mashinani. Lighting will sway away wild animals which attacts locals and their livestock during the dark. School going children will have motivation to read because light will be available. Reducing walking long distances in search of electricity to charge their devices. Clean Energy intends to conserve the environment that's why we intend to develop emissions free energy. Bridging the gap in prices, such areas gets electronics at highest prices due to poor transport system, we intend to bring to their doorstep the cheapest and yet quality and environmental friendly products to their doorsteps.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Advantages: Our products will enable locals get visible. Our products will conserve the environment. Lighting will bring the security needed. School kids will have reading means. And energy mashinani will help mama cook without much smoke. They say nothing on earth comes without limitations; Solar energy mashinani challenge sometimes is the availability of sunny days. With the current weather patterns sometimes it goes a day without sun rising to occasion. We acknowledge that our products will be affordable but it won't be enough to everyone given in the same proximity some goes less than 0.3 dollar a day.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
1. School going kids to get reading light. 2. Mama zetu to get smoke free jikos 3. Those underprivileged in society who don't own smart phones will have an opportunity to own at lower prices and on lipa mdogo mdogo basis. 4.
