Describe your project or startup in a few words
Our project is the establishment of a one stop wellness centre for both corporates and individuals. We aim to educate as well as provider affordable health and wellness packages for corporates and individuals.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
I have worked in the healthcare space now for over seven years. During this time, one of the products I was tasked to sell was annual wellness check ups and direct billing arrangements for corporates. Through my close working relationship with doctors, I got to see first hand the great impact that preventive healthcare can have on families as opposed to curative healthcare. I believe that there are many people who work within the formal and informal sectors that ar cognisant of the fact that they need to take up a healthier lifestyle. The aim of 313 wellness and insurance id to encourage the Kenyan population to be conscious and deliberate about their health seeking behaviors. We aim to offer wellness products cutting across different healthcare providers in Kenya to enable people seek and get information on preventive healthcare. The goal is to become a source of credible information on matters wellness by targeting atleast 10,000 Kenyans to undertake wellness programs every year.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Curative healthcare had become a source of pain for many Kenyan families. Everytime a family is plagued by a congenital illness like cancer, they suffer greatly and have to undergo an unimaginable level of financial and emotional distress. Preventive healthcare has the potency to minimize the financial burden of healthcare costs. Furthermore, mental wellbeing had become a major talking point for corporates. Ours is to be the link between corporates and hospitals. Many HR managers and administrators would like to have such programs for their staff but the informations is very scanty. Ours is to bridge that gap and ensure that the public is constantly aware of ongoing health programs. Our main tool will be social media. Heaving qualified doctors give free health talks and information for the benefit of the society.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
1. Cost benefits On of the major benefits of our products will be cost. Conventional hospital practices ensure maximum revenue maximization. By targeting a huge population with our products, we shall over negotiated rates to the benefit of our clients. Furthermore, we shall not charge a single coin from the customer. Our revenue will be drawn purely from commissions based on agreements between us and the hospitals. 2. Geographical coverage One of the hospitals we intend to start working with is the largest outpatient healthcare provider in Kenya with 100+ outpatient centres. 3. The benefit of choice Customer gets to pick their preferred and most convenient healthcare provider.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
1. The public Mostly working age adults whose busy schedules and habits may not offer them the opportunity to check on their health as well as they would like. 2. Corporate heads Corporates are constantly grappling on how to better take care of their Staff and how to make their staff fe l that they are well valued. We aim to offer employers exactly what they need to demonstrate care towards their employees. 3. Insurance companies We shall offer them negotiated rates that give them more value for their medical examination costs.
