01.01 Describe your project in more detail
LEAP Initiative addresses poverty in the Mathare slums through a multifaceted approach, targeting youths, women, orphans, and vulnerable children. We offer mentorship, empowerment, and mental health programs tailored to their needs. Our initiatives focus on equipping individuals with essential life skills, education, and resources to break the poverty cycle. Regular workshops cover financial literacy, vocational training, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, school visits facilitate impactful talks and empowerment sessions, reaching a broad audience. By fostering a supportive community and offering practical tools for personal and professional growth, LEAP empowers individuals to transform their lives and contribute positively to their community's development. We aim to establish a community center to centralize and expand these initiatives, providing a dedicated space for education, training, and support services

Consequently, residents face significant barriers to achieving economic independence and personal development. By addressing these interconnected issues, LEAP Initiative seeks to empower individuals with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to break free from poverty, fostering sustainable community development and improved living conditions.
