NguvuPower Tap Energy is a unique system that enables home owners or tenants across the world to generate energy while using water through taps or while in the shower.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

This mechanism will be achieved by installing small hydro power generator on the main tap that supplies water into somebody’s house. The small generator will be connected with small turbines that will rotate a motor while water is passing through them. This will enable the motor (together with other electronic components) to generate power that can be used to either power bulbs or boil water. The system will reduce power costs by half or more than half depending on water usage.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Power blackouts – NguvuPower Tap Energy will be configured in a way that it will act as backup during power blackouts which are very common in many parts of Kenya and Africa at large. Job Creation: NguvuPower Tap Energy will create jobs in manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and research. This contributes to economic growth and employment opportunities. Environmental Impact – this system will help to reduce air pollution as it produces clean energy. Cutting expenses/bills: This system will reduce the costs of power by half or more than half. Utilizing water: as water runs through pipes, it will be adding bills on-top of huge burden of high cost of living. However, one can get a relief if that water will be able to generate electricity that he/she can use in other areas.

Advantages of using NguvuPower Tap Energy: 1. Cost effective – this system will be cheaper compared to other energy products e.g. solar or generators 2. Easy installation – The installation will be simplified and will not require much expertise. 3. As one washes dishes, cloths or takes a shower, the water generates energy. This cut expenses by half or more than half as the energy will be used in other areas Disadvantages: 1. People who do not use tap water cannot benefit from this system.

1. Households: NguvuPower Tap Energy allows homeowners to generate their own electricity, reducing their reliance on grid-supplied power and lowering energy bills over time. It provides a sustainable and often cost-effective alternative to conventional electricity sources. 2. Businesses: Commercial and industrial establishments can benefit from NguvuPower Tap Energy by reducing operating costs through lower electricity bills. 3. Communities: NguvuPower Tap Energy at community scale can provide affordable and reliable electricity to rural or off-grid communities.

NguvuPower Tap Energy is totally new idea that has not been utilized by any company.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Solar Energy and electricity suppliers are our main competitors. However, NguvuPower Tap Energy stands out since we do not depend on sun energy. We will also make cheap systems that will be accessible by all.

I am yet to do so, but I have supported several activities that promotes female entrepreneurs.
