Totoz Daycare Center as the name states is coined from the name “mtoto” which in Swahili means child or baby. Our key target is to provide very affordable quality childcare services in densely populated areas within Nairobi.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

“This idea stems from me personally having struggled with work and raising my daughter. It was quite challenging finding support plus the idea of having a nanny would prove to be a costly affair with the jobs available in the city, most of the time I would be forced to take my child to work with me something that were it not for my understanding employers would have been impossible. Mission To provide safe, affordable, and high-quality childcare services to working parents in Nairobi, enabling them to pursue their careers with peace of mind while fostering the development and well-being of their children. Vision To be the leading provider of affordable childcare services in Nairobi and its environs. To be renown in Kenya for our commitment to nurturing and educating young children.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Totoz Daycare Center aims to offer reliable and affordable childcare services to working parents in Nairobi. With the increasing number of dual-income households and single parents, there is a growing demand for quality childcare. Our center will cater to children aged 6 months to 5 years, providing a safe and nurturing environment for their growth and development.

We would make life easier for parents as they need not worry about their children's wellbeing by doing the following: - quality, affordable and accessible childcare services coupled with the following: - Safe and secure environment for children. - Developmental and educational activities.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

The beneficiaries for this project will be all round: - Parents will have more time to focus on work to sustain the household income - Kids will have a warm, safe modern environment - Our staff will have income concurrent with their roles

My partner's name is Rose Mutuku, Apart from being my Mom she is a Teacher by profession with with over 35years of experience with all skills needed when handling children of all ages and being as she is now retired her time will be fully dedicated to this project.

It does with the fact that parents can focus more on work with the assurance of their children’s safety & wellbeing. Currently the minimum wage in Kenya does not coincide with cost of living especially in the cities. this leads to strained families barely coping.

05.08 Justification

We are not re-inventing the wheel and we are not planning to set up a basic day care...we are putting up an all new improved version where children are able to learn, interact and engage at a new level. We will work to be internationally accredited by having staff take courses to improve their knowledge. We will have modern cutting edge equipment with safety prioritized for the kids in a spacious comfortable environment.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

We mainly do not have ideal daycares in urban areas, most of the competition are unregistered and lack qualified personnel as such we intend to provide a better equipped better staffed spacious facility.

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

I work with various initiatives focused on the girl child especially those school related. my last one was a church outreach in Kitui. Which not only shared advice teenage pregnancy, gave out sanitary towels but highlighted the word of God.
