01.01 Describe your project in more detail
CultiCulture is an innovative mobile app designed to empower existing & new farmers by providing comprehensive resources & tutorials for crop planting & animal husbandry. The app offers step-by-step guides from seed to market for all crop types & detailed care instructions for animals. It includes a resource finder to locate quality seeds, feed, medicines, & tools, as well as a map of nearby agrovets & suppliers. Additionally, it features farm management tools to streamline farm operations, & access to expert services to ensure the well-being of livestock and crops. The app helps farmers stay updated on current market prices, connect directly with buyers, and provides access to a SACCOs for financial support. CultiCulture collaborates with food banks, charities, and local farmers to donate surplus food, contributing to efforts to end hunger. The app aims to enhance agricultural productivity, promote sustainable farming practices, & improve the livelihoods of farmers in Kenya.

CultiCulture aims to address the challenges faced by farmers in Kenya, an agricultural economy struggling with food insecurity and high unemployment rates. Farmers often lack access to essential resources such as quality seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural expert services, which hinders their ability to improve crop yields and livestock health. Additionally, they face difficulties in obtaining fair compensation for their produce due to market inefficiencies and lack of access to buyers. Through its comprehensive platform, CultiCulture seeks to empower farmers by providing them with expert guidance, resource locators, and market connections. By improving farming practices, increasing productivity, and facilitating better market access, CultiCulture aims to enhance the livelihoods of farmers in Kenya. This, in turn, contributes to the reduction of food insecurity and unemployment in the country, creating a more sustainable agricultural sector and improving overall economic resilience.

The targeted beneficiaries include farmers involved in crop cultivation and animal husbandry, as well as agricultural workers and entrepreneurs seeking to improve their farming practices and livelihoods. By providing these stakeholders with comprehensive resources and tutorials, CultiCulture aims to empower them to overcome these challenges and achieve greater success in their agricultural endeavors.

Her expertise in user interface and user experience design ensures that the app is not only functional but also visually appealing and easy to use. John Keiya with over 15 years of experience is a seasoned senior software backend engineer. His extensive background in backend development ensures that the app’s infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable, providing a reliable platform for farmers. David Mumo a versatile designer and a proficient business, product, project, and human resource manager. His comprehensive skill set allows him to oversee various aspects of the project, from product development to team management. His strategic vision and leadership are crucial for the successful implementation and growth of CultiCulture.
