Describe your project or startup in a few words

Using e-powered and/or hybrid vehicles for commercial tranport of people, such as mini-buses and buses etc in trying to use renewable energy and also create employment.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Current transport in Kenya relies heavily on internal combustion engines which in most cases creat air pollution, a few e-powered buses have been brought but more are needed to help in the fight against pollution in one form or another, plus in this endevour there will be creation of employment which is a key concern in any developing nation while also supplementing in the green energy use.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Creation of employment for myself and others as it will bring income, reduction in air pollution from heavy smoke emitting vehicles and the pointing out the need of green energy use.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

1.Simply the major one is creat employment as drivers will be needed, turn boys, conductors in collecting fares, mechanics in the maintenance of the vehicles etc. 2. Create a source of income for all the people stated above which contibutes to the country's economy in form of taxes. 3. Creating awareness that green energy use in motor vehicles is also a viable means. Most people don't think that e-powered or hybrid modes of trannsport are sufficent to be used in everyday use as a means of transport.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Targeted beneficiaries simply is anyone needing to move from point A to B as most dont have private vehicles and the subsequent people that are attached in the tranport industry.

Unfortunately in the transport industry, women and girls don't have an affinity to it due to its nature as it requires a great deal of energy and long hours to be able to work as required ,regardless it will be open to both genders who are willing and able to work as needed.

I do see some of the areas in Kenya that require help in the clean water and sanitation agenda and with this in mind the business will be setting aside money for such activities and when money allocated reaches the required amount, the business will reach out to the proper bodies to work hand in hand to promote the accessibilty of clean water and sanitation.

05.08 Justification

My project idea is unique because it utilises other forms of power outside the norm in the industry, the innovativeness in it is by utilising other sources of power and technical methods and technologies that are ever changing that are mostly under-utilised, in using the e-powererd vehicles we can incorporate solar energy as a source of upkeeping the movement of the vehicles creating a clean environment

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Main competitors are the transport businesses using mainy internal combustion engines for power, I aim to use clean energy as the main form of power which makes them more modern and comfortable using the same rates as the others.

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

I can't say am initiating actions in the community but my business partner is a lady so in a way am promoting female entreprenuers.
