Electrozoom KE is a infrastructure development project geared towards building a network for Electric vehicles charging stations. This initiative is aimed towards forming the backbone of EV infrastructure in the region.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Leveraging kenyan engineering to develop and maintain a charging network across the country for electrified vehicles. We are planning to lias with the already established fueling companies and commercial public development such as Malls, parking facilities, etc.. to rent/lease spaces to errect charging stations. The production of the charging station equipment is based in country to ensure efficiency in post installation support and maintennace. This project can be likened to the Tesla superchargers network in the USA which paved the way for Tesla attaining the highest EV market share.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Limitation of adoption of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles due to the minimal development of a charging network.

The individual intrested in stepping into the EV ownership. Township business commuter vehicles including taxis that are always striving towards efficient and economical operation. Vehicle imports companies and car manufacturers looking to introduce their EV portfolio into the country.

Reducing our dependancy on fossil fuels directly impacts the quality of precipitate that end up in our acquifers and reservors. Think of it as addinf a layer of filtration of our clean water ans sanitation.

One of the avenues of affordabilty comes toplay when comparing the source of energy consummed. The alternative to electic power ,most of which is produced locally from renewable sources, is fossil fuels that are imported from far away non-reneable sources thus consumed at a higher price.

05.08 Justification

The product and service offered by Electrozoom Ke is unique in its attempt to provide a standards of EV charging in the country that allow automotive manufactures in the world to enter the kenyan market with their existing EV catalog. The adoption of EV in the country is minimised to public transport vehicles with propriotery charging networks whose use is restricted to the fleet of the manufacturer. We aim to develop a wide spread network available to the general public with a standard of integretion that is compatible with the different EV manufacturers.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Companies such as Roam Electric and Basi go are pioneers in the EV industry in the country with charging networks supporting their fleet of buses and motobikes. This is achieved by designated battery charging station for the removable batteries for the two wheeled EVs and for the public service buses, there are designated charging location restricted to the company fleet only. Electrozoom ke aims at eradicating the lack of support for privately owned EVs. Rolling out standardised charging stations network that is open to public use and compatible with the variety of EVs by different manufacturers is a necessity if adoption of EVs will be a wide spread reality in the country. Electrozoom ke is designed for this very purpose.

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

We hope to leverage the female entrepreneurship during the production, installation and maintenance of the charging station by strongly encouraging gender equality in patnerships and contractual engagement of third party business support.
