01.01 Describe your project in more detail
GreenFuture AgroTech is an agricultural startup focused on transforming semi-arid regions in Kenya into productive agricultural hubs through advanced irrigation techniques. Our mission is to harness modern irrigation technology to convert fertile but water-scarce land into high-yielding farms, thereby contributing to food security and economic development in the region. Our target market includes local and regional markets for staple crops such as maize, beans, and sorghum, as well as high-value crops like vegetables and fruits. We also aim to supply produce to agro-processing companies and export markets. Additionally, we plan to engage with local communities to improve food security and create job opportunities.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
1. food insecurity In adequate rainfalls lead to unproductivity in this regions despite of large pieces of land and fertile soils. Through irrigation, this land will be made usefull and productive thus increasing food security. 2. high rates of unemployment. by starting irrigation, most of the community people will secure jobs because manpower is very basic in any production sector. 3. clean and cheap water this will be achieved by supplying clean and cheap water to the community and extend to other communities.
