iTA WELLNESS is revolutionising telemedicine for the African woman and girl through telemedicine by building the most responsive and affordable e-healthcare for the next 500million women in Africa.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
iTA is a digital and sms platform offering affordable and holistic women's virtual hospital services to have access to medical care, mental health, maternity care, menstrual care and SGBV care and call a boda( emergency GBV situations and pharmacy access.We help women access faster care in emergency situations to access ambulance services with a lipa later possibility.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Less than 50% of women in Sub saharan Africa have access to affordable healthcare. 2 in every 5 women in Africa have experienced some form of GBV. 65% of women and adolescent girls have are unable to access or buy sanitary products in addition, 30% of all school going girls miss some or all of school due to lack of sanitary products.

Responsive and affordable healthcare for the everyday African woman and girls as well as affordable and reusable sanitary underwear for school going girls. Better mental healthcare for women and girls who've experienced any form of GBV.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
iTA was built for the 500 + million women in Africa, for the rural woman who cannot afford basic healthcare to the school going girls who cannot afford or access sanitary products and for the women and girls who are stigmatised and ashamed to share because of experiencing a for of GBV.

Sylvia Akinyi - Chief Product officer in charge has a background in psychology and ensures that our sanitary under-wears are made to perfection and also ensures that iTA therapists are licensed . Davine Ndanu - Head of partnership and legal - she has an educational background in law and an advocate of the high court of Kenya. She is charge of ensuring that all our contracts are up-to pa . Elizabeth Wangui - Advisor - Helps in building partnerships and has an educational background in occupational therapy.

iTA wellness provides the most affordable medical services in Kenya with therapy going for as low as Kenya shillings 250 per sessions as well as the most affordable sanitary products going for as low as Kenya shillings 50 for a pack of 5 which are usable for up to 4 months making it the most affordable sanitary product in the entire country.

Through our iTA DOCTOR service -women from across Kenya are able to access in underserved and remote area can receive medical advice and consultations without needing to travel long distances. Specialised care as access to specialists who may not be available locally providing expert advice and treatment options for specific conditions.Through our SMS platform we are able to offer regular messages about health, nutrition sexual health to empower women to make informed health decisions.

Because iTA WELLNESS produces its own sanitary products, we are able to save the 35% of girls who miss some form or all of school during their menstrual days , hence keeping more girls in school to concentrate on their education. In addition, through our counselling services, we are given women. and girls access to mental health support that helps cope with stress, anxiety and other mental health issues improving their ability to concentrate on their studies.

iTA period panties are both biodegradable and reusable, we have created the actual underwear (outer wear)to be reusable with disposable absorbent materials wrapped in soft non-woven fabric. This makes our panties affordable, convenient and sustainable for girls in boarding schools .

By iTA period panties, we are going t significantly reduce the volume of menstrual waste generated compared to single use disposable pads and tampons .Although the absorbent inserts are disposable they generate less waste than full disposable sanitary products striking a balance between convenience and sustainability.

International sanitary product companies such as ALWAYS, KOTEX who produce pads on large scale are our main competitors but our pricing and sustainability makes our sanitary panties more affordable and environmental friendly for girls and women in remote and underserved areas as well as those in urban areas.

My team is made up of female entrprenuers within my community and we also work with women within to produce our sanitary panties.
