01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Anthea is an innovative energy solution designed to harness the kinetic energy produced by vehicles. By strategically installing the platforms on roads, malls, hospitals, airports, gas stations, and specific points on highways, we can generate electricity every time a vehicle drives over them. This technology provides a renewable energy source and contributes to sustainable infrastructure. The electricity generated can be stored in batteries of various kinds such as Compressed Air, accumulators, or normal Lithium batteries, or fed directly into the grid, providing a continuous supply of clean energy depending on the setup. Anthea is particularly useful in urban areas with high traffic density, turning everyday vehicle movement into a valuable resource for power generation. whilst contributing to the decentralization of energy.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The primary problem Anthea addresses is the growing demand for renewable energy sources and the need to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. As cities expand and vehicle numbers increase, the challenge is to harness this movement for energy production without causing environmental harm. Additionally, Anthea aims to reduce the carbon footprint and pollution associated with traditional energy generation methods. By providing a clean and renewable energy solution, we help mitigate climate change and promote sustainable urban development. It also provides an opportunity for carbon credits as it can be used by certain industries such as petrol stations to offset the carbon that their station may produce. Given its potential to reduce carbon emissions by generating clean energy from vehicular motion, Anthea may qualify for carbon credits.

Renewable Energy Source: Converts kinetic energy from vehicles into electricity, reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions: By utilizing renewable energy and reducing reliance on fossil fuels, Anthea helps lower greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate change mitigation. Sustainability: Promotes the use of clean energy, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change. Infrastructure Enhancement: Enhances urban infrastructure by integrating energy generation into road systems, making cities more resilient and self-sufficient. Customer loyalty: Businesses that integrate Anthea may be able to award users of the platform with points that will encourage them to visit their premises often. This will prove useful for gas stations Stable Energy Prices: By reducing dependency on external energy suppliers and the volatility of fossil fuel prices, Anthea can provide more stable and predictable energy costs for businesses.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
Anthea is aimed at serving urban areas with high traffic volumes, including city governments, transportation authorities, and energy companies. The primary beneficiaries are business owners, city residents and residential homes which will benefit from cheaper energy, cleaner air, and reduced carbon emissions as it can replace conventional power sources and supplement solar power. Additionally, local businesses and households will gain access to a new, reliable source of renewable energy. By partnering with municipalities and infrastructure developers, we aim to implement Anthea platforms in strategic locations to maximize energy generation and community benefits.

Oliver Justice is an aeronautical engineer with a passion for using technology to make the world a better place. He founded Helios Innovations Ke to create opportunities for innovators to change the world. Olga Mulama: Olga is a Financial Analyst with a passion for addressing climate change and a solid background in financial and data analysis. She has expertise in using Excel, financial modeling, and statistical analysis to generate precise financial reports. In addition to her financial expertise, Olga has also published research on weather variability and sectoral output in Kenya, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about climate change and the urgent need to respond to its mitigation. Ian Nato is an experienced software developer proficient in Java, Python, and PHP programming languages, with knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies. Additionally, the energy savings generated by the project can be redirected to social welfare programs, further alleviating poverty.

It introduces a new technology that revolutionizes how users interact with products/services, providing unparalleled benefits and experiences not available with traditional solutions. Moreover, our product can serve as an extension of existing offerings but with substantial enhancements, addressing limitations and inefficiencies present in current options. Crucially, it responds to a distinct demand or need in the market that has remained unmet by other products/services, positioning it as a game-changer in its industry. Anthea's innovative edge stems from extensive research, development, and a deep understanding of consumer needs, ensuring that our solution delivers unmatched value and sets new standards for excellence.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
Our main potential competitors include companies operating in the renewable energy and sustainable technology sectors, with Pavegen being one of the notable players. While Pavegen specializes in kinetic energy harvesting through foot traffic, our product/service distinguishes itself by offering a broader scope of renewable energy solutions. Compared to Pavegen's kinetic tiles, which are designed for pedestrian-heavy environments like sidewalks and public spaces, Anthea's technology is optimized to capture energy from vehicles passing over its surface. This distinction allows Anthea to tap into a different market segment and cater to the energy demands associated with transportation infrastructure. Eco Wave Power front has similar technology albeit they have specialized their efforts in capturing waves from the ocean rather than vehicles. They may not be a direct competitor, but the technological concept that they employ is similar to Anthea's, proving the feasibility of the project.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
In my first startup, my first and only employee at the time was female. I ensured that the project had a female who is experienced and passionate about climate change and sought her opinion on how to best plan for the project.
