Describe your project or startup in a few words
Objective: To provide a sustainable, clean, and efficient cooking energy source by producing hydrogen gas from water, thereby reducing dependence on traditional biomass and fossil fuels, and minimizing environmental pollution.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
In this project I intend to produce hydrogen gas that may be used at home by simple electrolysis of water , I intend to used materials that are readily available at home to reduce the cost of production of the gas. By doing so we may reduce our reliance on fossil fuel for activities like cooking at home. The hydrogen gas produced in this way may also be used as motor vehicle fuel. Since water on its own does not have enough electrons to pass electric current I have decided to use one other abundant material and by doing so I was able to produce the hydrogen gas.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
This project aims to be a model for sustainable energy solutions, promoting clean cooking practices while leveraging renewable energy sources to produce hydrogen, thereby contributing to global efforts in combating climate change and ensuring energy security. Reduce or eliminate carbon emissions from fossil fuels while cooking.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
1) Reduction or elimination of carbon emissions. 2) Reduce over reliance on fossil fuels. 3) Eliminate deforestation and cutting of trees for firewood 4) Address climate change challenges. 5) Ensure environmental sustainability 6) Create employment 7) Generate foreign exchange and wealth growing the economy 8) Promote research and development 9) Cheaper and affordable energy prices for cooking 10) Uplift living and cooking standards for communities 11) Open opportunities for utilisation of hydrogen fuel
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
1) Communities across Africa both in rural and urban settings 2) Urban households who use LPG for cooking 3) Schools and institutions that use fossil fuel for cooking

02.01.01 My project contributes to the No poverty goal
5
02.01.02 No poverty - Justification
Production phase of the project will lead to employment of staff Low cost of the fuel will reduce household bills
02.02.01 My project contributes to the Zero hunger goal
6
02.02.02 Zero hunger - Justification
Our idea is not directly related to food production but it is a cheap method of energy production, reduced cost in energy means money saved which might in turn be used to acquire extra food, especially poor families in urban settlement who rely on kerosene and lpg gas for energy.
02.03.01 My project contributes to the Good health and well-being goal
6
02.03.02 Good health and well-being - Justification
Our product has little to no harmful emission, reduced emissions to the environment will mean reduced health risks in the longterm.
02.04.01 My project contributes to the Quality education goal
5
02.04.02 Quality education - Justification
It will contribute to existing researches on sustainable energy production.
02.05.01 My project contributes to the Gender equality goal
2
02.05.02 Gender equality - Justification
Other than our research team consisting of 1 female researched, the research itself will not contribute to gender equality directly.
02.06.01 My project contributes to the Clean water and sanitation goal
3
02.06.02 Clean water and sanitation - Justification
.
02.07.01 My project contributes to the Affordable and clean energy goal
7 - Strongly Agree
02.07.02 Affordable and clean energy - Justification
Our project's main goal is to achieve sustainable energy by electrolysis water and producing hydrogen gas that will be used for cooking. Water is the most abundant resource on earth and therefore it's available in plenty, availability of the raw material is a very important factor in sustainability this project.
02.08.01 My project contributes to the Decent work and economic growth
7 - Strongly Agree
02.08.02 Decent work and economic growth - Justification
If we are able to produce energy from water, this will save the nation and in turn the world so much of the money spent on energy production. The future might even involve using the hydrogen gas produced to run motor vehicle engines.
02.09.01 My project contributes to the Industry innovation and infrastructure
7 - Strongly Agree
02.09.02 Industry innovation and infrastructure - Justification
This is a very new project whose literature will be critical in future researches on economical and sustainable energy sources
02.10.01 My project contributes to the Reduced inequalities goal
5
02.10.02 Reduced inequalities - Justification
The reduced cost of production will level the ground and give access to people of all classes to cheap and efficient energy for cooking
02.11.01 My project contributes to the Sustainable cities and communities goal
4
02.11.02 Sustainable cities and communities - Justification
Considering how much Africans rely on charcoal and dry firewood for energy production, this is not sustainable as it encourages to deforestation. This project on the other hand encourages afforestation as it substitutes charcoal and firewood with hydrogen gas. This supports community goals of improving forest cover.
02.12.01 My project contributes to the Responsible consumption and production goal
5
02.12.02 Responsible consumption and production - Justification
This industry will be dependent on the electrical, water and labour. To produce our gas we will need to pass an electric current through water, our dependence on other industries ensures there is circular economy.
