Describe your project or startup in a few words

Am intending to start a Home health Services business. The aim is to offer medical services at the client's/patient's home. Services that will be offered is; Physiotherapy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech & language therapy and mobility aids.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Almasy Home Health services will be mobile medical care unit. This unit will comprise of a multidisciplinary professionals and licensed individuals; Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Medical doctors, Nurses, Patient attendants & Speech Therapists. I also intend to partner with other medical health providers like hospitals, ambulance service companies and medical suppliers for medical need extensions. In my diverse career experience in health sector, over time a witnessed patients being neglected once they are discharged from the hospital. I have seen there is gap between the patient and the medical profession in terms of follow ups and adaptation. This unit will be more organised and orderly with medical professions and will solely work with surgeons and liaisons personnel for referrals. The aim is to forge the relationship between local and overseas medical doctors and for those patients who requires follow ups.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Our country's population is 60% made of youth and major is amongst this young generation face is unemployment. Most of the medical professions are actively working towards leaving the country for employment. For this reason, Almasy Home Health Service will create employment for young medical professionals that will be involved in providing medical services to patients. Health services is very expensive and this will come in hand as medical stepdown hence being affordable for patients with medical insurances and without. During my career, I witnessed most spinal cord and brain injury patients having difficulty in adapting to their environment simply because there's no medical profession to help the patient in behavioural change in avoidance of further medical complications that may result to unnecessary expenses and trauma. Almasy Home Health Service will be an overflow channel for public referral hospitals and other mission facilities.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

During COVID-19 pandemic most of the hospitals were overwhelmed with the COVID-19 cases and home based care services was introduced to ease and offer similar services at home. It was affordable since most of set up belongs to the patient. Timely recovery since the treatment will be specialized. Protecting patient's mental health of hospital traumatizing experience. Help the patient to adapt to the environment make adjustments where possible.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Sub-acute patients; Quality, specific and affordable services Medical insurance companies; there will be value for money Physiotherapists, Medical officers, nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and Patient Attendants; will earn from offering the services to patients hence creating employment.

Partner 1 :Critical nurse profession, we have worked together for close to 5 years before she went back to school for specialized medical course. Partner 2: A reputable physiotherapist with 4 years of physical rehabilitation experience. Partner 3: A passionate occupational therapist with experience of paediatric and adult cases Partner 4: She is a dedicated finance professional and manager.

This is not a new service in the market, we are bringing a new concept in service delivery, organized, quality, realized the gaps in market will be filled by this business. This is part and parcel of medical services that are offered in a full fledged hospital whereas this will be similar services but offered at home.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Nursing Homes medical professions and Physiotherapy clinics will be my main competitor. I have worked in different medical facilities on a diverse capacity, engaged on high level decision making that resulted to growth of respective facilities on a number of occasions. I have studied the dynamics of the demands in health sector and the relation to other players. This provides me with a better platform to thrive in the business.
