With the rise of number of unemployed but educated/skilled graduates, with just a smartphone, tickme gives them a platform to establish themselves as thought leaders in their fields, compete for day-to-day jobs and earn a living without much investment.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

tickme combines the three main processes involved in selling; Marketing, Conversion/sales and Bookkeeping. By obtaining a reasonable number of users, each business will be listing their services directly to users. The service providers and SMEs can as well bid for listed jobs by users. Making it easy to reach more interested prospects. Users shall also have a pool of service providers at their disposal for hire/booking. The hired service provider shall also be able to manage their business through the site. Handling bookings, listing and promoting their services, managing their community, issuance and storage of financial records, writing blogs for promotion and business management using the business dashboard for business users. Business user profiles shall be rated up to five stars that shall be earned in categories to prove legitimacy. 1 star for complete profile information, another star for referral and recommendations, other 3 for job bookings though the site.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

tickme intends to reduce the jobless bracket by empowering the service sector in the informal sector. One can build a professional profile, grow it as a portfolio and compete for jobs with minimum years of experience. tickme is also trying to reduce the cost of starting and doing business by eliminating website development costs, lowering marketing cost and removing bookkeeping know-how that is mandatory in business management. It also removes the challenges of promoting events. The booking platform at tickme will accommodate booking of both events and any other bookings for SMEs eg. Accomodation, Tours, Virtual events, sports etc. by offering users a seamless booking panel and easy issuance of soft copy but legit and verifiable tickets.

1) Reaching more prospects. SMEs with tickme profiles shall be able to reach more prospects by just listing or searching and bidding for jobs near them. 2) Business management tool. The easy to use business dashboard will make it easy for business owners to track and manage the business without necessarily needing more business management knowledge. 3) Legitimacy. Service providers working on earning better rating will keep on proving legitimacy of the service provider before hiring. Reducing scamming risks that are rampant in online jobs. 4) Easy to build profile. Using just a smartphone and internet access, one can build a profile and grow it to a portfolio they can use to promote what they do best. 5) Reduced cost of establishing and running a business by cutting down cost of website design, marketing and business management. All this in exchange of a fraction of any booking fee made through the site. 6) Increased talent monetization as users can promote their events.

The jobless are the prime target beneficiaries of tickme. This is because they are fresh with skills but with little or no capital and experience to start and build businesses. SMEs also form another targeted group. To empower them to compete with already established businesses and increase their earnings by directly linking them with a pool of service seekers.

Yes. I am a co-founder of a youth based Agriculture related organization (Apex Farm), that is giving youths a platform to explore agribusiness opportunities and earn a living. From the 10 registered members of the organization, 5 are female.
