EcoKollect intends to create an opportunity that allows residents to get paid for proper waste segregation and recyclin. Through the leverage of technology, we plan to create an opportunity for pickup of wastes and allocates them to eco-innovators.

"EcoKollect envisions a sustainable future where waste becomes a valuable resource. We bridge the gap between waste generators and eco-innovators, fostering a circular economy for a greener planet." EcoKollect's mission is to create a sustainable future by facilitating the responsible disposal of waste and the promotion of upcycling, while also providing economic opportunities for waste generators, recyclers, and upcyclers alike.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

According to The Guardians Newspaper, in Nigeria, managing waste disposal has become a major concern despite several attempts by successive governments and private organisations in that direction. That is why it is a common sight across the country today to see heaps of festering waste dumps in almost every nooks and crannies. Residential apartments, markets, waterways, highways, streets and undeveloped plots of land have been turned to waste dumps for many households. In 2021, Lagos State generates over 14,000 metric tonnes of refuse on a daily basis, according to its Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tunji Bello. So, there is a big need to leverage on technology for all attempts to be proven functional and effective.

We stand as a third party for three target audiences; recyclers, upcyclers and residents in different communities within Lagos state.
