Describe your project or startup in a few words
JoChris Hydroelectric Lantern is an alternative source of power supply, specifically for people who don't have access to or means of a stable 24-hour power supply. It aims to provide a constant, affordable, and clean source of energy for people.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
A hydroelectric lantern that provides a 24-hour power supply. Power is generated from hydro/water and can be used by everyone and anywhere. It doesn't need to be charged because it generates its own energy/power supply. It is long-lasting and needs no extra source of fuel or battery - (probably) just water once in 2 weeks. Features: - Water generated only I.e. pure, healthy, and renewable source of energy. Water is the only source of fuel and lanterns might only need a refill, a maximum of once in 2 weeks. - The electricity generated is forever with a light bulb so BRIGHT due to the large size of light bulb used, as a result… - Lantern has a 3-switch-control stage to control the brightness of the light at low, medium, and high. It has a smooth switch that takes it gradually from low to high and vice versa preserving power. - Lantern can power phones, laptops, and fans, and other electronics like hand dryers, hair clippers 24 hours on the go.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem I am trying to solve is to provide a regular power supply for homes. Also, this project/product will help small businesses like salons, soda retailers, and traders power basic electronics or items in their shops that require a micro power supply.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Some major benefits are: 1. Constant power supply to keep homes lit 2. Access to power for small businesses or traders that suffer due to irregular or absence of power supply 3. Access to clean energy to power basic home appliances such as a (standing) fan during hot weather, pressing iron to straighten one's clothes, electricity for students who love to read at night, and so on.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
Archetype: Economic - middle-class citizens, and low-class citizens who can't afford or don't have access to constant power supply in their community. Geographic: Nigeria and other developing countries. Demographic: All age brackets. Some Customer Cohorts and Personas: - One whose house is poorly ventilated and needs 24-hour electricity to power at least a standing fan. - A trader or shop owner who uses a torch light or lamp that barely lights her shop. - 23-50-year-olds who work from home on their laptops, NEPA takes the light and they burn fuel which is now expensive, but they need to work. - 2-18-year-olds primary school pupils and high school students who need light after school in the evening to do their school homework; and university students who have assignments to do on/laptopsptop but "NEPA" electricity is not guaranteed. - persons whose gadgets are always dow due to minimal or no access to power supply. - people who wear rumpled clothes due to the absence of a power supply.
