BloodConnect is a digital platform that provides easy access to blood banks, blood groups, and blood donors, particularly during emergencies. It also facilitates blood donation by allowing blood donors to book based on their location to nearest blood bank

BloodConnect is a digital platform designed to connect blood recipients with nearby blood banks, a variety of blood groups, and blood donors, especially in urgent situations. The platform not only serves as a resource for accessing vital blood supplies but also promotes and simplifies the process of blood donation. Through BloodConnect, users have the ability to locate and request blood donors based on their geographical proximity and specific blood type, making it easier to find the assistance they need in critical situations.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Nigeria is facing a severe blood shortage, resulting in the loss of about 85000 mothers annually during childbirth. WHO states that Nigeria can only obtain 500,000 units of blood out of the required 1.8 million annually. BloodConnect aims to use technology to address the shortages at blood banks, inadequate data on blood bank sources, and the fragmented blood donation system.

Bloodconnect is an organization that specifically focuses on providing support to mothers who have tragically lost their lives due to childbirth-related blood shortages. Additionally, the organization aims to assist individuals who have been involved in accidents and face challenges in accessing their required blood types during emergency situations.

In our team, we have individuals with outstanding expertise. Ephraim Aigbefo, our Lead Software Engineer, is skilled in JavaScript, C#, Node.js, .NET, and React, with over 5 years of experience in application development across various sectors, and a successful track record of leading teams for over 2 years. Rohimat Olamide, a UI/UX Designer, has a background in Computer Science. Oluwateniayomi Adeniyi is our Backend Engineer, with over 2 years of professional experience in JavaScript and other backend programming languages. Ojo Odesanmi brings 2 years of profound knowledge in business development. Mubarak Amode, our Product Designer, has over 2 years of extensive experience in product design and Ifeanyi Emmanuel, our Frontend Developer, has more than 2 years of experience in crafting pixel-perfect, dynamic, and accessible web interfaces using React.js, Next.js, and JavaScript.
