This idea provides sustainable energy for lighting and charging, which will be used by last-mile customers. It doesn’t use batteries and solar but simply makes use of salt and water (Osmotic Energy).

This idea provides sustainable energy for lighting and charging, which will be used by last-mile customers. It doesn’t use batteries and solar but simply makes use of salt and water (Osmotic Energy), Which is readily available in the post part of the world. This solution will be relatively cheaper than alternative solutions including Solar and batteries. The Saline solution will cover the first law of thermodynamics while the circuit will ensure that the power generated is sustained. This technology will revolutionize the energy sector by increasing access to energy to last-mile customers,

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the World Energy Outlook 2023, over 760 million people in the world still lack access today. This situation is most pressing in countries in sub-Saharan Africa, where around 80% of people without access to electricity live. While there have been some recent improvements in access in sub-Saharan Africa, these have not kept pace with population growth, with the result that there has been a 2.5% increase in the number of people without access since 2010. These Energy deficits are still persistent in areas where the purchasing capacity is low (Last Mile Customers). This idea is aimed at ending this power dearth, which providing a reliable, affordable light and charging source.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

Sustainable energy- This idea will provide sustaining energy using salt and water, it doesn’t emit greenhouse gasses which have adverse effects on the atmosphere. Reliability- The energy sourced is reliable because it is derived from sources that are readily available in most of the world, it can be used in the morning afternoon, and night and it doesn’t require batteries to retain energy which is usually the most expensive component of solar lanterns thus extending night time, Increased living standard- This solution will replace the use of lanterns when releasing fumes that are harmful to health and the environment because it will be relatively cheaper than alternatives. This will decrease the cost expended on energy which can be used to fund other aspects of their lives.

This product is meant to serve last-mile customers, marginalized people, and people who have survived one form of crisis or another, people who have low purchasing power, this sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy will work effectively in every community.

05.08 Justification

There are a lot of alternative sources of light and charging products, mostly solar home systems, However, these solutions are relatively expensive and depend on sources that are not very reliable and thus need battery to store energy.

Our major competitors are other solar product providers, these are mostly from China. however, the local content policy will be me a competitive age

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

Yes, Women will be responsible for sales of the products, seeing that they own most of the shops in these rural communities, we will partner with distributors like Solar sisters. a renewable energy company that focuses on empowering Women
