Describe your project or startup in a few words
Trashformas Nigeria Limited is a company focused on transforming waste into valuable resources. We are working on Biogas production from organic waste. This includes the purification and compression of Biogas, and the production of organic fertilizer.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Trashformas Nigeria Limited has developed a 10 cubic meter Biogas digester, aiming to harness chicken droppings and cow dung for sustainable energy. Our project addresses waste management and energy needs by converting organic waste into biogas, equivalent to 4.6 kg of LPG gas daily. We also propose using biogas to pump water and our liquid fertilizer to grow Brachiaria grass for cattle, fostering a mini ranching system with local Fulani herders. This holistic approach promotes clean energy, supports local agriculture, and enhances community livelihoods, aligning with our mission for sustainable development.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem Trashformas Nigeria Limited aims to solve is energy poverty in Nigeria. Organic waste, particularly from poultry and livestock, often accumulates, leading to environmental pollution and health hazards. Simultaneously, many households and businesses struggle with access to affordable, clean energy, relying heavily on expensive and polluting fossil fuels and fuelwood. Our project converts this waste into biogas, providing a sustainable and cost-effective energy source while addressing the waste disposal issue.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
By using biogas to pump water on a farm land and using our liquid fertilizer to grow premium grass (Brachiaria) for cattle, we support local agriculture and improve livestock health, further enhancing community livelihoods and promoting environmental sustainability. Encouraging the idea of ranching in micro scales.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

05.08 Justification
Our project is unique and innovative as it combines biogas technology with sustainable agricultural practices, transforming waste into valuable energy and fertilizers. By utilizing chicken droppings and cow dung, we produce biogas to replace costly fossil fuels and provide eco-friendly fertilizers. We further support local communities by using biogas to pump water for cattle and our fertilizer to grow premium grass, creating a circular economy. This integrated approach not only addresses waste management and energy needs but also supports local agriculture and reduces carbon footprints, driving holistic and sustainable development.
