Recycling of old used fabrics project is one directed towards reducing the burden of waste generated in the ecosystem of our society. This entails collecting used old garments ready to be disposed off which are then used to make valuable products.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
It involves reducing the burden of waste generated through collecting this old garment, cutting them to fine pieces and using them to make fine finished products such as bags, pillows, purses, and other aesthetic products which in a long run will drastically reduce the rate of pollution in our water bodies and soil. The fashion Industry in the long run will benefit enormously from the management of its resources whereby fabrics and other leather materials wasted in the production of this goods can be reduced to the nearest minimal level which in so doing allows efficient utilization of the wastes generated instead. This project also aims to provide cheap and easy accessible products for the less privileged which will give them an opportunity to benefit from the diverse products used an in so doing has aid easy access to equal opportunity, also this will provide employment opportunity to the youth and women. This also helps in the reduction of carbon waste and air pollution.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Carbon waste pollution, whereby the burning of this products contributes to global warming thereby causing harm to the health of the populace and also affecting the ozone layer is so doing affecting the ecosystem. It also reduces the level of water pollution whereby this unused fabrics or old discarded fabrics go into the water bodies, support the growth of fungi and other bacteria which come to contaminate the water bodies and also affect the aquatic habitat. It also being decomposed in the soil takes a longer time to degrade thereby affecting the soil profile level and the rate at which it support growth of plants and shrubs in so doing competing with nutrients by the bacteria growing on them and the nutrients to be made available for plant growth. It also provides employment opportunity and could serve as a tourist attraction through the blending of our cultural aesthetics in a beautiful manner portraying our cultural heritage in the fashion blending

It will provide ease and comfort because the products are less expensive and light to go about with. In improves the sense of belonging to our cultural environment. It reduces the rate of pollution in the society. It causes less financial burden on our budget It provides readily available and easy to access products

Working on bio-waste recycling, having participated in a pitch here at Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University,Sokoto The other working on the recycling of this fabrics for a better ecosystem also having participated in a pitch and won a first place round but yet to execute the project.
