Food share is an application that allows donations of food and monetary donations in Nigeria. From Within and outside Nigeria to Nigeria and also to relatively minimize the effect of food shortages in the country, thereby reducing scarcity.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

I am excited to present my initiative to leverage my existing e-commerce website, Food Share Platform, to enable both national and international donations to Nigeria. This platform is a web-based application, that will support buying, selling of goods and donations from Nigeria and international countries to Nigeria using payment gateways like Paystack, PayPal and Stripe, ensuring smooth donations to the website. This donations includes monetary, item, individual, fresh produce donations etc ensuring the donations are adequately endorsed by NAFDAC. We plan on partnering with local NGOs, to ensure adequate distribution of donations among the less privileged partnering logistics company and ensuring strict tracking measures are implemented and efficient. Using technology, the Food Share Platform will provide a comprehensive solution to address food insecurity effectively. I look forward to your support in making this a success in times of food scarcity.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Food is part of our basic amenities, which is why this platform intends to solely donate and share food from the privileged or persons who are willing to donate to the less privileged in Nigeria reducing the hunger rate, by just using few clicks.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

The number one benefit is Increased access to food: This platform ensures donations of various food items, helping individuals and families access meals they may not afford, or at an extremely low cost. The second benefit is a swift crisis response: This app will enable rapid response to crisis, lockdown and state of emergency in the county by mobilizing donations promptly. The third benefit is Reduced food waste: surplus food from individuals to those in need, to minimize waste.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

My targeted beneficiaries are less privileged and victims of war who might be in need of food and other donations to survive.

By Supporting Small Farmers and Producers: Where possible, the platform can get foodstuffs from local farmers and producers, thus providing them with a stable market and And by reducing waste, the platform helps reduce waste , ensures they can continue to grow and supply food.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

My potential competitors may include e-commerce website in Nigeria such as jumia, konga and the likes but I can totally set myself apart from my competitors in by really focusing on delivering top-notch products, working closely with farmers to ensure quality, and my genuine passion for growth and innovation. Showing my dedication to quality and collaborating closely with farmers will definitely make me stand out in the industry.
