Describe your project or startup in a few words
The Energy Box is an energy conservation system setup to tackle energy wastage and power control from the consumer level. The solution includes, realtime power monitoring and control, automatic changeover of energy sources with or without phones
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
In Africa, there's a loud campaign for renewable energy. However, the major issue isn't the need for renewable energy. The major issue is energy management, the usage culture. The average African will rather leave the outside bulb of the house turned on just to be able to tell if there's power when he's returning from work thereby wasting energy. The energy box introduces a hardware and software solution to tackle this energy management problem. The solution features the following capabilities; Real-time Power availability and Consumption monitoring Power Control Automatic changeover of energy sources Timer based control All of these can be done manually, via a GSM phone and also a smartphone giving an ease of use. This means that the local woman will be able to find out of power is available in her own to make proper decisions and to control the electrical appliances in her home. The businessman can as well choose to switch to solar energy or even time-control his appliances
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem to be solved here is Energy Wastage In Nigeria alone, 25% of energy is wasted at transmission stage before it gets to the homes. Consumers also eventually waste the energy that eventually gets to their houses by using too many appliances unnecessarily at a time.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Real-time Power Availability and Consumption Monitoring: This system enables every user to find out in real-time whether there's power in the home. This feature is important for countries that lack power stability like Nigeria and the present Ghana. This feature will enable the consumer
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
The project is aimed at serving every African who has access to electricity If this serves the population with electricity properly, we'd have more energy to others with no access to electricity
01.05 When did you start working on your project?
2024-05-03
01.06 How many other partners are associated with your business venture?
