We're a startup company positioned in the tech space to improve learning experiences for students in all category of learning, from primary up to tertiary institution.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Edvolab utilizes both hardware and software solutions in teaching students (teenagers and young adults) in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to give them a hands-on experience making them learn faster and better. Edvolab interfaces students with kits, electronics, robotics and various engineering systems and concepts to improve their learning, get them familiar with computer and industrial age and make them relevant even before they get to be professionals in various fields.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Learning engineering and technology in Africa is currently not affordable and available to most of the public, and even when available, only a sect of the top class families can provide the resource for their children to learn these skills. Edvolab gives out an affordable and available solution to learning technology, and engineering no matter where the students might be in Africa.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
1. The project is meant to teach students in lower to mid level how to effectively get acquainted with the growing technologies in the world. 2. Build career interest in students so they have a better idea what to choose when they are moving into higher institutions or leaving the higher institutions 3. Collaborate with schools in improving the learning speed, capacity and growth of students so that they can have better use of the technologies around them as well produce solutions to the problems of everyday life.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
The education sector are the targeted beneficiaries, and the students are the target audience. Students are the ones who are still learning different directions towards what they would want to do in the future as well as a career path to take, we're to help guide their decision if they should show interest in these areas.

Our partner with Edvolab is skilled in Machine learning with over 3 years of experience training and building models. She's also skilled with engineering design with 3d computer aided design software (solid works) as well as being proficient as a project manager.

With the growing interest in STEM, we aim to give guidance to students on what direction to follow when deciding a career and these include modern technologies that the world is driving into such as embedded systems, robotics, hardwares and softwares. Anyone with vast skill in these aspects would likely gain traction in the industry and also job opportunities.

This business idea is meant to level the playfield between students across same level worldwide in their access to engineering and tech as well as their understanding of both.

The project uniqueness comes from the lack of similar solutions in the nation, having only very few countries in other continents employing such. In Nigeria, not many uses hardware solutions and electronics in teaching students how to be proficient and knowledgeable in STEM fields.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
This business ideas doesn't have any competition in Nigeria as most of the education technology startups or companies focuses on software solutions in teaching students online or in person. We focus on hands-on experience combining both hardware and software in training students across STEM fields.
