Describe your project or startup in a few words
Rondiipsy is a project dedicated to enhancing the dignity and well-being of the girl child by providing free sanitary pads to teenagers aged 10-19 years
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Recent statistics indicate that over 80 million Nigerians are now living in multidimensional poverty. This dire situation has forced some teenagers to use rags as menstrual pads. In response, we have launched this project to rally community support and care for the girl child. Our research underscores the importance of rigorous monitoring to ensure project success. Consequently, we are incorporating a biometric system to manage and track the distribution of sanitary pads. Teenagers in secondary schools and out-of-school girls will be registered and required to clock in when receiving their pads. This system guarantees that the pads reach the intended recipients and generates valuable data for future initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of the girl child.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
1. Poverty and Well-Being: We address the pervasive issue of poverty that affects the emotional and mental well-being of the girl child. By providing free sanitary pads, we aim to alleviate some of the financial burdens that exacerbate their hardships. 2. Health Concerns: We are tackling the health problems faced by teenagers by making essential genital health products accessible. This initiative ensures that young girls can maintain proper hygiene, thereby preventing infections and other health issues. 3. Data Accuracy: Our project also resolves the problem of inaccurate data regarding teenage girls, which hinders effective planning for initiatives aimed at them. With our biometric tracking system, we collect reliable data to inform and improve future projects dedicated to supporting the girl child.
