Describe your project or startup in a few words
Transpool is a community centred ride hailing app using the carpooling system that aims to revolutionise transportation for riders, providing cost-efficient and safer commuting options while offering an alternative income source for working-class riders.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Transpool offers a solution through a robust carpooling system that connects commuters to riders travelling the same route. With a stringent registration process and government ID verification, Transpool ensures confidence and safety for both commuters and drivers. The app limits drivers to offering only three seats for comfort and implements a rating system to inform riders about driver reliability. Transpool not only offers a cost-efficient and safer commuting option but also serves as an income source for working-class riders. It contributes to reducing carbon emissions by encouraging car owners to utilise the carpooling system. With a focus on safety, affordability, and convenience, Transpool aims to revolutionise commuting in metropolitan cities. Transpool transfers that cost liability into an income source. This software also eases the strenuous process of commuting to work for workers. Ineffective public transportation, safety, and the high cost of alternative transportation sys
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Transportation holds the key to unlocking economic development, acting as the lifeblood that empowers the workforce and facilitates seamless commuting . Yet, amidst the explosive growth of metropolitan cities, there is still that predicament that has not been solved: efficient and reliable transportation. Our goal is to solve this problem with a simple yet efficient system capable of withstanding the relentless surge in population.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Riders can significantly reduce their commuting expenses compared to traditional ride-hailing services or public transportation. Knowing that both the drivers and fellow passengers have undergone identity verification instills confidence and peace of mind during the journey.Live Location sharing is also enabled. Transpool fosters a sense of community among riders through shared commutes. By leveraging their daily commute, drivers can offset the costs of owning and maintaining a vehicle while contributing to the community's transportation needs. By splitting these expenses among multiple riders, drivers can reduce their overall transportation costs, making car ownership more sustainable and affordable in the long run. By participating as drivers on Transpool, individuals contribute to easing traffic congestion and reducing carbon emissions in Lagos.
