Hantoks Foods addresses three primary problems: hunger and food insecurity, dependence on imported foods, and the lack of profitable markets for local farmers. Nigeria's heavy reliance on expensive imported milling foods creates economic vulnerabilities and high food prices. Additionally, many local farmers struggle to find profitable markets for their produce, leading to post-harvest losses and wastage. By producing affordable, nutritious plantain flour locally, Hantoks Foods reduces hunger, decreases dependence on imports, and provides a viable market for plantain farmers, encouraging increased cultivation and reducing post-harvest losses.
