Sacons farm is an agricultural based project, aimed not only at improving the quality of food consumed by people but also empowering and creating job opportunities. It is also targeted at offering farm produce at consumer friendly prices.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Sacons Farm is an agricultural project aimed at producing farm produce at cheap and affordable rates whilst maintaining good quality. It will be operating in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. One of the many reasons that influenced the choice of location is predominantly on easy accessibility and fertility of their land, cost of production as things are relatively cheap in this region of the country, there by basking it the name “Food Basket of the Nation” and also to create a means of employment in the region as the unemployment rate is on the high side. Sacons Farms aims to plant, grow and harvest Rice, Yam, Cassava, Soya beans, Groundnut,Tomatoes and fresh pepper. The cost of these food crops enlisted are quite expensive across Nigeria which is usually affected by economic and seasonal factors and are also in high demand. This is where Sacons Farm steps in to breach in the gap between farmers and the consumers, as we intend to employ cheaper means of production.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem Sacons Farm is trying to solve are lowering the cost of food production, improving the quality of food crops consumed by people, creating employment opportunities and generally improving the standard of living of the natives of Benue State which would further improve and encourage education amongst the people. Sacons Farms also projects to breach the gap of food scarcity in Nigeria especially for seasonal crops such as Tomatoes and also increasing the quantity of food crops available in the market across the 36 States of Nigeria by farming large volumes of food crops and ensuring an efficient means of transportation. Furthermore, this project is aimed at reducing food wastage by providing proper and quality storage facilities to preserve the quality of farm produce.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
The major benefit of using the product my project intends to provide are : 1. Provision of quality food crops at an affordable rate. 2. Creating job opportunities for unemployed youths in Benue State. 3. Improving the Standard of living across Benue State by creating job opportunities. 4. Making food more accessible to the consumers by creating effective transportation mechanisms. 5. Reducing the level of food scarcity by producing large volumes of food crops, and enduring proper storage facilities are used to store them, thereby preserving their quality and reduce food wastage.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
My project is targeted at serving the consumers of food crops across Nigeria by providing quality and affordable food crops. And also, It’s targeted at improving the quality of living of the natives of Benue State especially the youths.

The first partner is a Anyor gabriel terkimbi. A native of Gboko living at 12 st paul str gboko east benue state. He graduated from Benue state uni. Makurdi with a Bsc psychology and is currently working as a Farmer. The second partner is Ms. Ozioma Chinedu, she hails from Chokoneze Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State and is a graduate of Veritas University Abuja. She is currently a staff at First Bank Nigeria, she has worked in several other cooperations such as Union bank, was an audit at Adeya Farms located in Sokoto, where she served during her Nysc in the year 2018 and came out as the corp member of the year.

There by reducing the quantities of chemicals and wastage deposited in the sea, and also the level of food wastage will reduced significantly due the adequate storage systems which inversely reduced the quantity of food wastes dumped in water bodies.

My project idea is unique and innovative in the sense that it provided a new take on agriculture where consumers can have access to quality farm produce at an affordable price and very much readily available for purchase across all seasons.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
My main potential competitors are big farm corporate giants striving in the country, what would make me stand out from them world be the freshness of my farm products, the quality, means of production, cost of the farm produce and most importantly their accessibility.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
By employing them to work in the farms. For example, the females help to sell the farm produce in the market places and processing if the the harvested crops.
