Describe your project or startup in a few words
The project uses organic fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides to reduce carbon footprint from agricultural activities and uses IoT device to quantify greenhouse gases emited with resultant incentivization of farmers from carbon trading proceeds.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
The project will focus on the development and promoting the use of organic fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides which will not ony reduce reliance on synthetic chemical, minimising emissions, but contribute to healthier soil ecosystem, leading to increased carbon sequestration. Secondly the IoT sensors will be deployed to monitor and quantify greenhouse gas emission in real-time. With the data, farmers will have useful info into their environmental impact, enabling areas for improvement. And finally a carbon trading scheme will be established incentivizing farmers tobreduce their emissions. Farmers who achieve lower emissions through the sustainable practices gets carbon credit rewards, that can be traded for financial benefits. With this incentive in place, there will be more, wider and better adoption of sustainable farming practices. Out project is multifaceted because it combats agricultural carbon emissions and offering sustainable future for farmers and the environment.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The project is solving the problem of climate change from agricultural activities by integrating organic agricultural practices with modern technologies to reduce emissions, promote sustainability, and provide economic incentives for farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural practices.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

5
05.06 The product/service we envision creating responds to a demand or need that has not been satisfied by other products/services.
4
05.07 The product/service we envision creating is a new version of an old product/service.
4
05.08 Justification
Few number of customers uses organic products during their production cycle and I think there is none providing service of quantifying greenhouse gases and uses it in carbon trading for the benefit of the farmer. The product we envisioned is not generally a new product but the service of quantifying greenhouse gas and use in carbon trading for farmers benefit. Our Product isn't a new one but the idea in it and execution mode distinguished it from others. Our Project set to offer a new Idea of smallholder farmers earning from carbon trading systems and therefore isn't an extension of any product or service. Our project also is a response to dire need to mitigate climate change using innovative and sustainable ways that will benefit all. Our products especially the organic inputs can be said to be a new version of an old version of other organic inputs even though ours will come in granular forms especially rhe fertilizer and others in liquid forms.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
Our main potential competitors are indigo agriculture, climate field view, yara international, Soil Capital and Microsoft Farmbeats. What makes us stand out from them is that we capitalise on the tripple-threat approach of combining organically formed inputs with IoT driven emissions monitoring and carbon trading incentivization. Another reason ofbwe setting apart from them is the data driven optimization that provides real time information on greenhouse gas emission so as to make informed decisions. Also our sustainability approach through the use of organically invented inputs as compared to the use of chemicals sets us apart from them, thereby ensuring sustainability practices and friendly environment. And of course our financial incentives from carbon trading makes it easier and palatable for the farmers to adopt sustainable practices and lastly by positioning our selves in terms of leadership and market differentiation in sustainable agriculture by attracting conscious consumers.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
Yes, I do initiate actions in my community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs in my community by engaging, guiding, advising, patronizing and linking them with opportunities to grab and bring about a change we all aspire in making our society a better place for all to live.
