01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem we aim to solve is the inefficiency and unsustainability in agricultural resource management, particularly in water usage and energy consumption. Traditional farming methods often lead to overuse of water and reliance on non-renewable energy sources, resulting in environmental degradation and increased operational costs for farmers. Additionally, many small and medium-sized farms lack access to affordable technology that can optimize these resources. Our solar-powered IoT system addresses these challenges by providing a cost-effective, sustainable solution that automates irrigation based on real-time soil and weather data, thus conserving water. It also leverages solar energy to power the system, reducing dependency on non-renewable energy sources.
