Econaij Solutions aims to transform waste management practices in Lagos, Nigeria, by promoting recycling and sustainable practices. We plan to achieve this by distributing separate bins for recyclables such as plastics, glass, and paper to households, alongside general waste bins. The initiative includes educational campaigns and community engagement to raise awareness about recycling benefits and waste segregation importance. Additionally, we intend to incorporate a waste-to-power generation system to power our plant, further enhancing our commitment to sustainability. This comprehensive approach aims to cultivate a recycling culture, leading to cleaner streets, reduced environmental pollution, and a sustainable future for Lagos.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem Econaij Solutions aims to solve is the inefficient waste management and lack of recycling culture in Lagos, Nigeria. Currently, there is minimal emphasis on separating recyclables from general waste, leading to environmental pollution and health hazards. By providing households with separate bins for recyclables such as plastics, glass, and paper, alongside general waste bins, my project seeks to instill a culture of recycling. Through educational campaigns and community engagement, we aim to raise awareness about the benefits of recycling and the importance of waste segregation. Ultimately, this initiative will lead to cleaner streets, reduced environmental pollution, and a sustainable future for Lagos.

The major benefits of my project are: 1. **Environmental Impact**: By promoting recycling and waste segregation, the project significantly reduces environmental pollution. My partner, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from the University of Jos, is a highly skilled and experienced individual. She already helps create content for her company brochure and website, showcasing her strong skills in communication and marketing. Additionally, she possesses strong administrative skills honed from her job responsibilities, which include managing administrative duties effectively. Her passion for environmental cleanliness, as evidenced by her commitment to waste separation at home and her co-creation of this project, further enhances her value to our team. Her combination of skills, experience, and passion makes her a valuable asset to our project.
