AGRILERT is an Agrictech virtually simulating app which is designed to empower farmers with personalized updates for optimal crop management throughout the entire planting season, ensuring maximum food security and paving the way for climate resilient agr
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Our vision is to enable farmers make informed data driven decisions, for optimal crop management, enhancing crop yield and sustainability by seamlessly integrating cutting edge technology, weather data and agronomic insights throughout the planting season. Agrilert utilizes the use of the Commercial Microwave Link with mobile Network Operators to give real time updates for farmers to plan, manage and optimize their agricultural activities of specific locations and regions and also give predictive Climatic Agri-advisory for pre planting, planting and post planting season. Weather and climate services allow farmers to make better decisions based forecast weather and climatic conditions ranging from several hours to several years in advance. Data-driven agriculture services draw on remote sensing, weather and farm-level data to monitor agricultural activity and enable evidence-based decision making.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
In Nigeria, the agriculture sector plays a crucial role in the economy in supporting the livelihoods of millions of farmers and non-farmers. However, the sector faces a great challenge due to unpredictable climate patterns. Farmers are confronted with uncertainties related to rainfall, temperature variations, and extreme weather events, all of which significantly impact crop yields and overall agricultural productivity. Farmers or agricultural sectors that owns various farmland across the country majorly have difficulties in making data driven decisions, sometimes this is due to lack of proper information of the ongoing farm activities, thereby resulting in decrease of crop yield, and overall farm management The unavailability of a virtual simulating app poise as a challenge especially for optimal crop production.

My project contributes to the region's financial development.
