Skillmart Integrated Services connects people with the opportunity to learn, earn and network. People can offer their skills as service to teach the unskilled and mentor them and in turn they get paid. Unskilled have the opportunity to learn.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Skillmart Integrated Services is a platform that connects people with the opportunity to access skills locally created by experts in that field. The students pay a token to access the skills. The skill tutors get paid for the service they provide. We also organized conferences in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurship, skills acquisition, personal development among others. In the future, we aim to support entrepreneurs with funding and boost sales of products locally created by individuals in the community using different marketing plans.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

1. Reduce unemployment by making people self reliant. 2. Promote education and access to skills and mentorship by local experts who understand the challenges and business of the skills. 3. Provide platform for networking among professionals to boost network. 4. Promote the need for skills acquisition in the communities especially among youths. 5. To create a source of passive income among the skilled.

I am targeting the unskilled youths to acquires and skilled professionals to earn from their skills.

05.08 Justification

My idea is unique because I am using community experts who understand the skills as applied in the various community and also giving my users access to learning and mentorship opportunities instead of just providing courses. Skillmart is not only focusing on digital skills but also expanding to hard skills like baking etc.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Main competitors - Udemy, Coursera Distinction - community based approach and hard skills inclusion with live classes system of learning and access to mentors who understand the community challenges.

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

I mentored the lady in my team. She came to me with the desire to gain knowledge in multimedia. And I gave her time to mentor her. Today, she transitioned from multimedia to learn UI/UX designs working on becoming a full blown product designer.
