In response to the waste and unemployment issues in north central Nigeria, the "Recycle for the Youth" project aims to empower unemployed youth. By involving them in waste collection and recycling, the project seeks to address environmental pollution.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

In the "Recycle for the Youth" project, the primary aim is to involve unemployed youth in waste collection and recycling activities to combat waste pollution and address youth unemployment in north central Nigeria. The initiative entails partnering with the youth to gather various types of waste like plastics, cardboard, aluminum, and nylons. These materials will be either recycled or sold to larger companies to generate income. A portion of the earnings will be set aside to support the education of the participating youth. To ensure the project's success, a well-structured waste collection system will be implemented, organizing collection schedules and routes for effective waste management. Training sessions will be conducted to educate the youth on proper recycling techniques and the significance of sustainability. Furthermore, workshops and seminars will be held to provide in-depth knowledge’s on sustainability studies, aiming to cultivate a sense of environmental responsibility.

The main issue we are aiming to address with the "Recycle for the Youth" project is the dual challenge of waste pollution and youth unemployment in north central Nigeria. By engaging unemployed youth in waste collection and recycling activities, we seek to mitigate the environmental impact of waste while providing economic opportunities and education for the youth in the region.

Economic Empowerment: The project provides job opportunities for unemployed youth, allowing them to earn income through waste collection and recycling activities, improving their financial well-being. 3.
