Be Well is an agriculture/food programme put in place to tackle food insecurity and also create employment to local farmers by embarking on rural-urban food linkage and verse versa.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Be Well is one of the quick-win actions to tackle food insecurity in Nigeria. Will provide wider and quick benefit to both urban food systems operators and city dwellers and also create employment opportunities for the rural and local farmers. The Idea is to engage local farmers, get the fresh foodstuffs like vegetables, garri, palm oil, coconut, yam, cocoyam, wateryam, crayfish, okra, fishes, etc in large quantities take them to cities and then sell them city dwellers. In return, will also buy food items like rice, groundnut oil, beverages and then sell to rural dwellers.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Be Well Project is to curb Food insecurity and also create job opportunities to rural dwellers (famers/traders) who are mostly women.

1. Ensuring quality food accessibility for both urban and rural dwellers. 2. Curbing the high cost of going to get food in rural areas by urban dwellers. 3. Creating job opportunities to local farmers and traders. 5. Serving as a middle man to rural farmers and the consumers. 6. It will end poverty and also enhance healthy living. 7. End hunger 8. Enhance food security and improved nutrition. 9. promote sustainable agriculture.

We looking forward to selling fresh vegetables gotten direct from the farm and if we can't sell them all, we make sure we store and preserve them in a way it's nutrient will still be intact and won't dry off.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Market women. We will preserve our products and make sure it does not lose it nutrients. We will selling our goods at cheaper rate compared to the prices at the general market.

I'm looking forward to engaging the female farmers who process oil and garri and promote their business.
