Describe your project or startup in a few words
My aim is to create a safe space for youth in my community to learn trades. There are many youngsters who drop out of school not having anything to do with their lives butbi want to create an opportunity to train them in the construction field as myself.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
I want to start a project within my community by approaching the youth. Starting from ages 16 years old who have maybe dropped out of school and teach them what it is to be working with your hands and learning new trades within the construction trade. Many people don't know what an asset you are once you have learned these skills. I have studied building and civil engineering and would love you teach the youth of my community just how much you can achieve by knowing how go to do carpentry and painting. I would love to approach some of my fellow students who have experience in different trades as i have to also help with this project. It would put food and livelihood in many of these youths households. Stopping poverty. Giving a new line of education. Tertiary institutions can become very costly and not all our youth are by means to go there to learn these trades.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
My main problem is many of the youth in my community, especially young boys at early ages drop out of school and falls into drugs. This is one of the reasons why poverty is found within my community. I want to rectify that and help them make a success of their lives
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
By starting this project there would be less drug addicts and a chance given to youth to finally follow a dream and make something of their life. It would not only mean that the youth would be off the streets but also another household that would be able to be fed and sleep peacefully at night. These young men and woman will be teached on how to use these trades to their own benefit and also how much money they will be able to make from it simply by just knowing how to do it and also how to teach the next person their skills. No one can ever take away your skills once you have learned them
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
The youth in my community. In actual fact the whole community will be affected by this initiative as the youth plays an important role in the future of tomorrow. Once they are taught every skill and showed what to do and ready for the work place they will be referred to construction companies who will take their knowledge further as well as their skills
01.05 When did you start working on your project?
2024-03-01
01.06 How many other partners are associated with your business venture?
0
01.07 Among the other partners, how many are female?
0
01.08 Please describe the profile of each of the other partners (skills, experience, etc.)
I will still have to approach my fellow students and hear if they are willing to teach what they have learned or teach their skills.
