Describe your project or startup in a few words

MiYA is a ride-hailing platform that is designated for students in high learning institutions around Cape Town. We are planning to operate between Stellenbosch and the Cape Town regions since most Institutions are located in those regions.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Our Slogan is to "Ride with culture, arrive with flare. We are planning to build an ecosystem through e-hailing, which involves students and the tourism sector in Cape Town. The students will arrive with the Generation Z culture interacting with the flare brought by Cape Town's attractions and beautiful sceneries. We are intending to build this ecosystem by having a special feature which will be a form of notification popping up on the screen suggesting places of attractions around Cape Town that the user can visit, such as, airports, events, beaches, hotels and shopping malls. We are intending to have partnerships with these attraction sites and icons.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

As a student I have noticed that many students want to explore more of Cape Town, but the main components and concerns are safety and affordability. However, this is not only a concern for students only but society in general. So we planning to solve safety, by installing cameras in all vehicles and also have real time tracking that is accessible to 5 kins of the customers like. The customers will also be given an option to post videos of their night out, for humor and also for the company to be recognized for it's involvement in student culture. In terms of affordability, we will provide discounts to all places that we have partnerships with, and also provide savings accumulated rides to our customers.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

The strategies involve installing cameras to all vehicles rendering our services, this will help with Safety measures such as an assault case whereby we would know what led to the altercation and how the altercation actually concluded. Also it will be easier to track lost valuables as you will be able to see if wether you left your valuable on the vehicle the customer used. Lastly since the drivers will be mainly student and female drivers at least our consumers which are students will also feel more safer. Lastly students will be able to travel places at an affordable price.

MiYA is aimed at serving all students in High learning institutions around Cape Town.

Both of my partners are students doing their last year in Software developing whereby they are majoring in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town. So they are responsible for the app development. And the third person will be responsible for the device/camera fitting and mantainance.

I strongly agree that no one deserves to live in poverty because it is a situation and environment that is inhuman to live in, mainly because there is no growth and success around poverty.

This project will allow consumers to have good mental health mainly because they will feel safe in our services and not feel any anxious emotions during the ride. It will also contribute to the well-being of students, as we all know that leisure comes after productivity, so students will be able explore more of Cape Town at affordable prices.

I agree since Cape Town is best known for tourism. So, this project will use the youth from different parts of the world who are students in Cape Town to promote tourism and there is no other way to boost tourism other than vibrant students on Social Media.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Our main competitor is Bolt and Uber. What makes us unique is that we are doing something which they are not doing which is focusing mainly on students. Our Company will have special features and devices such as Cameras that will be installed to all vehicles which will render our services.

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

Yes, not only in community but also within my family. For example having recurrent conservations of growth, development and success. Through these conversations we able to promote women independency.
