The mine museum is to give the youth of south africa a broader view of how mining sectors operates.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

I work as a mechanic at a mine in Mpumalanga and during the period I have worked here I have seen how the operations here have not changed, they are still using the old traditional way of mining. ( I have business ideas that we can use to change the way they mine coal) I have also noticed a major disadvantage to the youth due to lack of knowledge. The youth graduates from high school and further their studies in varsity/colleges without any knowledge of how the working environment is, hence students often fail or keep changing what they are studying.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Give the youth the feel of how the mining sector works, give young innovative entrepreneurs like me to help enhance the mining industry. There is alot that needs to change, and that can be done if we work together.

Give our youth exposure the different kinds of job opportunities that the mining industry has besides engineering.
