Describe your project or startup in a few words

My project is about Animal Feeds,Early 2023 I started from humble beginning by producing 10bags of chicken feeds now I produce more than 50bags of different feeds I need to grow in this project by having advanced machines which will help me on processing.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

After I graduated from college i realized that I have to do work so that i can maintain my livelihood,in Tanzania currently there are no employment so I decided to employ my self through knowledge from the college and I started my small company Which is Shedes Animal Feeds I had no capital to start with so i borrowed money from my sister and Started my business from a very humble beginning by producing 10bags of 50kg every 2 weeks.During that time I didn’t have the machine so the place where they sell the raw materials they also have the milling machine which they charge per kg. So I started to grow my business through and through by adding costumers and finding new market places ,after six months of working i decided to hire someone for marketing and sales. Now I have a small machine located at Ubungo river side and I have been able to pay the money back from my sister

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

1.Chicken meat and Egg production the average person is required to consume about 40kg of chicken per year,and in Tanzania there is scarcity of enough chicken,so when i get the money I will use to purchase the pellets machine which produce the quality feeds for chicken production of chicken will increase in my Country 2.Improvements of youth livelihood In my country there is scarcity of Jobs and employment’s,so i will mobilize the youth by group and provide education on poultry farms and we will use the feeds which I produce to feeds the farms after they sell to the market i will get the money for feeds and they will keep their profit hence it will improve their livelihood. 3.To reduce post harvest losses Most of Farmers in Tanzania they lose more than 40-60%of crops due to post harvest which include storage production and transportation so i will buy the bran from the farmers in which humans can not feed example rice bran and maize bran

1.Improve health of individual Because we will produce eggs which are help on providing nutrition to individuals 2.Helps to increase production capacity in poultry farms 3Helps to reduce food losses and waste

1.Local Farmers These are people who are doing the poultry farms and pig farmers by providing them with quality feeds which will improve the quality of their farm products like eggs and meat 2.Youth and woman’s Because I will encourage the youth to participate fully on poultry activities so they could improve their livelihood

My business involves the farmers in which they improve their livelihood through this project example my business reduces the post harvest lost by buying the rice bran as one of the raw materials for animal feeds also i buy the seed cake from sunflower and cotton which i also use in making animals feeds so this business reduces the level of poverty to farmers and in Tanzania more than 60%of population are farmers
